The game has been out around 4 months now, and the classic community is still facing the exact same issues that have been present since the beginning. Blizzard is about to release a new patch, with all of these exciting updates, but they refuse to even acknowledge any of the issues that are slowly but surely killing the already small remaining classic community.
When will they fix the game browser bug so we can actually see all games on our region? I understand things are not server based, but as I live in a country with very few players, I have NEVER seen more than one game up at a time, and 99% of the time there are zero games showing in the game browser. That means to find any games, including dueling, trading, questing, MFing, leveling I need to use third party websites to coordinate with other people, which is just an average experience. overall I would much prefer all games show from the region I have selected, otherwise what is even the point of having the regions anyway. I understand it may be a ping thing, but surely it can just show the ping in the game browser. This issue is literally game breaking for the small classic community, and players are just slowly leaving to stop playing completely, or moving to expansion where they can actually see games.
The second big issue is fact for some weird reason Blizzard won’t give give classic The Shared Stash. Or at the very very least, give us a bigger stash. For anyone not familiar with classic, we have a 4x6 stash, which is ridiculously small. To mule we have to make a game, drop all of the stuff on the ground, and return on a mule char (hoping the game hasn’t bugged out). There seems to be no explanation as to why they can’t give classic either of these quality of life improvements, as once again they refuse to address it. I already have had to buy a second account due to the character limit and small stash size, and I have already run out of room again. Do I just have to keep buying more accounts? I understand expansion players face this issue as well, but at least they have significantly more space to store items.
Please Blizzard, at the very least address our concerns. I have heard from other classic players they are now getting banned on this forum for even mentioning the issues with classic, which is a complete joke.
We all agree (I can’t think of a single post were someone said they loved the lobby) that the old style lobby simply is terrible in today’s world. It needs a clear overhaul. Unfortunately it was not on their list of high priority items to fix in 2.4 (at least as far as the dev Q&A and patch notes go). Fortunately they are clearly willing and able to make changes in D2R so hopefully its on the list sooner rather than later.
As far as the shared stash goes I thought there was a community manager post about it a little bit ago in the forum. I guess search for threads about shared stash and community manager posts to see it.
Thanks I will have a look, I wasn’t aware it had been addressed. Do you know if they explain why or why it wont ever happen? If there is some reason why they can’t add Shared Stash into classic, surely there is nothing stopping them at the very least giving us the same size stash as expansion.
As far as I am aware, this is the only time it was addressed and this was before the game even released. Also this excuse makes zero sense, as they have added in many other QOL improvements to classic such as auto gold pickup, auto party etc. How would adding in stash related QOL improvements be any different to those. And like you said, I have not met a single classic player who would not want a shared stash or a bigger stash.
I know absolutely nothing about networking, but if the PD2 modders were able to connect every region to a single game-list (like seriously, that’s impressive), then surely Blizzard themselves can do it to right?
More people need to discuss this otherwise it won’t be added to their priority list. I know people chuck in this issue as a “lobby” issue (that can mean many things), but to be more specific it’s the networking behind Battle Net 2.0.
If they need to contact the PD2 guys and ask for assistance, they should do that.
Bumping this thread until Blizzard respond and address this issue. Maybe work on fixing the actual issues with the game instead of working on balance changes. Your balance changes mean nothing if everyone stops playing the game because of these major issues.
