Clarification on the Metamorphosis runeword

Metamorphosis looks like a neat runeword, and I’d like to give it a try. However, I’m unclear on one point: Does the werebear’s shockwave attack activate Mark Of The Bear?

If it does, I think a fury werewolf with a point in werebear and 20 points in shockwave would be the best way to use Metamorphosis. Shift to bear, stun everything for ~15 seconds, shift to wolf, clean up with fury. Physical immunes may pose a problem, but the fury werewolf has always had that problem.

If it doesn’t, then I’m not sure I want to stick points in Maul (not a great skill, by my estimation) just to take advantage of both marks. In this case, I’ll probably save the Cham rune and stick with Jalal’s Mane.

If you’re familiar with this mechanic, please let me know (and maybe explain how you use Metamorphosis to its full effect).

Shockwave doesn’t activate it, but you can still stun them and then hit them if you like. You don’t need to max out skills if you don’t want to. A single successful strike will work, and then you can go back to being a wolf if you prefer. You just need to land a single hit as a bear every couple of minutes.
