Hello guys, now with the beta date in front of us, I wonder if there’s gonna be a clan option that allow you to move a character from one clan to another.
In my times the clan didn’t mean a real thing and I think it’s cool, but as you should write the tag in the name of the character, when you “switch” your clan you should create a new hero to tag it. Today I think there is a lot of option to switch clan and not lose your hero.
Maybe there should be a limit or a frame of time in while you can’y keep switching clans due to abuse or scam, but definitivly should be a mechanisim to do it and not lose your progression.
You can be in 1 clan, which has a shorthand (3 chars afaik) which will be displayed in front of your accounts name to others (in D2R it might be your characters name instead of the account).
There is no concept of different clan for different character in D3, but maybe they will divert from it if there is a good reason for it.
Additionally you can be in several “communities”. These function very similar to clans but are meant as more of a loose connection between players.
Both clans and communities have their own chat channels, their own ranks, their own news cast and their own roster.
It is far from perfect, but until i hear something more concrete about D2R, i expect to see the D3 stuff with slight modifications.
Clans were an announced feature of D2. What is your point?
Also Clans are a feature of Bnet 2.0, which was announced to be used for D2R. So again, what is your point?
It is pretty clear that clans will be coming in one form or another. Most likely not as fully part of the world as in the original D2 announcements, but definitely in the form of friendlist and guildchats.
