I know it’s super difficult and impossible to achieve 2000 chat remastered in 2022… but could you guys at least try and revert it back somehow?
chat system is awful such a pain to talk to friends and ingame chat etc even d3 has a better chat system
Agreed. I don’t understand how this isn’t even being acknowledged by Blizzard as an issue, at all, when it’s more commonly occuring than not. The fact that they removed the ability to perform GRushes, along with making act 3 take exponentially more time to complete, but haven’t made any attempts to fix the most important functionallity of an online multi-player RPG, Chatting. They also took out the ability to use your friend’s list to see who’s online, which game they’re in, and unsurprisingly, you cannot broadcast messages to friends in the game. (I’m referring to “/f m [message]”, or, “/friends message [message here would be sent to all online friends]”.
I’m just disappointed, frankly, that there seems to be no sense of prioritizing what the fans not only want, but rightfully deserve (at least being able to communicate via game chat - with everyone. Not having to worry if they can’t see your messages, or you can’t see theirs, or both! Keep in mind this happens [at least for me] more than 50% of the time I’m in a game, and have to /whois all the players in game just to pass on a message. Ridiculous).
*Note: I’m not implying that Blizzard should bend over backwards to meet our constant demands - that would make the game terrible if they implemented every single person’s ideas or demands. I just personally feel slighted by the lack of infomation / updates from Blizzard on matters (unless things get REALLY bad, they don’t keep us informed). I admittedly know little about servers, but I do know that basic chat features should NOT be this difficult. On one last thought, before I end this tangent, is the fact that we are strictly forbidden from using any possibly offensive words and/or using profanity. This game is rated “M”, for Mature - but we don’t even have the choice to turn on/off the profanities being fully censored. Real talk though: PLEASE make it OPTIONAL to censor profanity, it’s quite frustrating how overly sensitive it is, also. It often will censor words that just coincidentally contain a word that’s blacklisted, even if it’s not being implied, and being taken out of context.
whew Okay, I apologize for the wall of text, but communication is my #1 priority in an online game! The fact that chat bugs happen more often than not is extremely frustrating by itself, but on that one magical game you join - where everyone can hear and talk to each other - it feels like every 5-10 words are censored, most of the time (I’m seeing a pattern forming here…) it’s an innocent enough word or phrase that can make their text utterly unfathomable, due to false positives, and leading to misunderstandings, and guess what? More frustration. smh
