Just because you would prefer a different system doesnt mean the other systems bad. Just means that if it was your choice, you would change it(like with your mods). The games designers chose to use the system already in place. They had reasons and thoughts behind using it. Just like how you have thoughts and reasons for using your modded systems to play the game the way you enjoy it.
They cant loot the gear on my body. why doesnt my inventory also just sit on my body too? Would make a naked run you being really naked when corpse running.
Perhaps, unfortunately that is as good of a theory as âthey planned it all out and wanted players to have to chooseâ. The only way to really know is to ask the developers themselves and see what they say.
They could like add item bags for various types of items, gem/rune pouches for example. That would be fun to have it in loot, more rare or uniq bags would have special slots, more item spaceâŚ
But it doesnât matter what they wanted? The game isnât exactly the same and has had many patches because what they originally designed needed tweaks. This is another instance where the game could use a tweak. Pretending like they somehow had infinite wisdom in what they wanted at the time to avoid changes means we wouldnât have had any patches after they released the game.
I want a system for stacking runes, thats like Rune Box X(0/20), were you put a rune in, and it because Box of X runes (1/20), also have a version for gems.
So one rune box, could hold like 20 el runes. And I would want the box each to be the size of a belt in the inventory.
Also, would be nice to have powder bags for the essenses.
Maybe a Jewelry box, thats like the cube, in size but holds 5x4 space of rings/amulets/jewels.
I literally made a video in favor of this when the game dropped. A lot of the negativity boils down to people thinking theyâre geniuses for tetrising inventory space and picking up items newbs havenât made room for.
of course, since drop rates are so low, you can literally save and exit holding an item in the air and bypass the inventory space requirements And it very likely is the best item in the run if youâre going to the trouble since drop rates are so low. The tetris thing(âinventory management is part of the gameâ) isnât a good argument against it since you can just bypass it by doing this without any real consequences.
The charm inventory isnât really anything new. But iâd prefer stackable pgems/runes at this point.
A charm inventory isnât the same as having auto pickup. At some point, you will run out of space. It just means i get to pick up items on my duelers instead of having to save and exiting with the item to go id it in a private game while clearing the moor.
I was against loot filters until i ran a gold find barb and saw how much actual crap obscures your high runes that never drop. Maybe you donât know this game as well as you think you do since you put so much stock into inventory tetris. Seems like youâre trying to feel superior about all the wrong things.
Another idea to put more of a balance twist on the 3x10 charm inventoryâŚ
At level 1, you start out with a single vertical 3x1 row. Every 6th level you gain, you get another 3x1 row. So at level 55, youâd have the full 3x10 charm inventory.
Also, because I was talking about potions, F the D2s potion system. Lets grab Path of Exiles. But still keep D2s belt sizes.
So the smaller belt sizes(less max rows) would hold smaller potions.
So you would have 4 potions slots like POE, but with no belt they are small potion bottle sizes only. +1 row, Normal Size potion bottles, +2 Enlarged Bottles and +3 rows Grand potion Bottles.
You could add prefix and suffixes for them if you allow for magic and rare variants.
However, I wouldnt want the Potions refill by hitting enemies. I would want you to go back to town and have the potion vendor refill your bottles. Never liked the auto filling in PoE, just wasnt for me. BUT you could have the Find option move for the Barb, be he CAN refill his potions from the dead. That would be kinda cool and allow the barb to remain on the battle field longer.
Finding loot isnt a cost lol. The stat requirements on different pieces of gear are a cost. The use of inventory space is a cost.
Imagine, if Finding items made them not have a cost in this game. Would make SSF characters the most powerful in the game. You found Storm Shield? No Strength requirement for you, person who trades for it 156 str to use it. lol, dear lord that would be horrible but also kinda interesting in a morbid sort of way.
Large charms already are useful, Iâve sold some of them for like Sur+. Theyâre just very uncommon to find. Even more so since so many people mistakenly never even pick up LCs in the first place.
Make a full 4x10 charm inventory and full 4x10 loot inventory. Buff monsters and nerf characters to not only affect that, but do it even more so. Make the game even harder Iâm fine with it and I think most would be. But nobody can argue that the min/maxing of charm space vs looting space as appealing or skillful or fun. I get that we donât want to blanketly buff everyone by giving them a free charm inventory, game is already too easy, but you can negate that outcome quite easily and that in turn would get rid of the lame min/maxing of space.
