Hi Blizz, can you please tell us if you will be expanding the number of characters and/or stash space sometime in the near future? I ask because it seems like real/hardcore D2 players, are going to need to buy a second, maybe even a third copy of the game, in order to do the things they want to. This also means a second and third account, and annoyances with muling between accounts, and etc. Obviously, I think most everyone would prefer to keep all of their stuff, under one game license, and one account. So will these things be expanded, sooner than later? Or are we supposed to/expected to buy more copies of the game, and be sad/disappointed in having to do so, in order to have more than 20 character slots? Previous Diablo allowed infinite/unlimited characters, and infinite/unlimited stash, for comparison’s sake. Hope we can get an answer on this, thanks!
and here I am coming from original diablo 2 playing with 24 storage slots for 20 years overwhelmed with too much storage space!
feelin’ like a pack-rat over here
Stop being a hoarder and throw your junk away. Easy solution.
Are you trying to get them to shrink the stash? Stop telling them you will give them more money if they don’t increase the stash…
FYI,
storage usually boils down to system requirements. To keep the minimum system requirements lower generally you’d want to optimize anything that uses your memory.
although… by using cloud based remote storage they could kind of cheat by offering relatively infinite storage. one of the downsides for that would mean you need internet to play even single player, and it would take longer to load the banks table. Not getting into security issues for this one.
personally I see diablo’s inventory system as a unique thing that just says diablo to me. The whole items that take up a certain amount or configuration of spaces. If anything, i’d like to see more SHAPES of items, so I could play more tetris with my inventory. Still wating for the T block to fall… you know? For instance, I think a bow should be ‘C’ shaped instead of a block of inventory squares. You know, more shapes.
original diablo also didn’t have as much loot to pickup. things like charms and stuff are like new items and I’m glad they expanded the stash over the years to match the pickups.
i think it’s because diablo was originally intended to be a turn-based game before it went real time that they stuck with the inventory system. good of them to identify it as a defining characteristic of this game you know. it is what it is
I already do… please think before commenting again.
As to others, I am not saying I’d buy more copies of D2, even though I am an ultra fan of D2. Currently 40 dollars gets you 20 character slots. I want to know whether they want us to be inconvenienced and disappointed with the current character/stash limits, or if they will provide a way for those of us who actually play and enjoy D2, to continue to do so. This really shouldn’t be so controversial of an ask.
If you have enough stuff to fill up an entire character list with items in stash/inventory/shared then you need to get rid of some garbage.
Please read the thread, I already do…everything I have is useful and valuable, and I continue to leave even more useful and valuable stuff on the ground, preventing me from really mfing anymore at this point. And yes I do trade and get rid of stuff, and craft and get rid of stuff, and etc etc…idk why the default reaction is it’s somehow my problem or fault that we have such a limit. I’m doing all I can and it’s still not nearly enough. Let alone, I can’t play ladder, can’t play hardcore, can’t play classic, can’t make solo characters, can’t make PvP characters, or any off-meta builds, beginning to see the problem?
Yeah, this is a massive problem in a game about collecting loot and making new character builds.
Not to mention that you may want to have characters in softcore, hardcore, hardcore ladder, & softcore ladder. Isn’t there a non-expansion version too? I guess you could play that too. That would make 8 different game play modes with different pools of characters. I guess you can only have 2+ characters per mode?
Besides the connection issues, I’ve been real pleased with the game. I expect the connection issues will be worked out, so I’m not worried about that. But the lack of ability to make a diverse set of characters is kind of game breaking issue. As an outsider looking in, it’s almost like the actual game developers did take the time to try to get the feel of the game right and succeeded, but that a separate team decided on how battlenet would work. These guys imposing a 20 character limit have no idea how the game works. It’s painful to see what seems like it’s going to be a great game busted by something so easy to see by anyone who has played the game.
