I had a 66 and 73 both in hell just gone.

Someone told me it is maintenance so they wont display. Not sure but we will see. have many higher lvl toons as well

All my online characters are missing!! What kind of crazy bug is this??

Fingers crossed that the update shows your characters. If not then they most likely are gone gone. This is a response I got from blizzard after losing my items from a bug.
