Characters are missing after several days of playing. Why? How to get them back? As I see on the forum this is not an isolated case, checked both online and offline tab and they are not there. The support service was unable to provide a clear answer to this problem.

I’m afraid that it is not possible to restore a deleted character in Diablo II: Resurrected. There is no built-in way to do this, and we Game Masters at Customer Support aren’t able to see those characters to restore them.
If you’d like to see a change in how this works, I’d recommend submitting a suggestion to our developers by posting on the forums and gathering support from your fellow players to make your voice heard. While we’re not able to implement every suggestion, it certainly can’t hurt to speak up.

This was from my ticket about my Zon “poofing” and I had video evidence from shadowplay.
servers take snapshots of all files at some sort of recurring time. They definitely have the ability to . like look at item restoration services for WoW or d3. Blizzard is just refusing to take any action because with the amount of randomly lost characters it would mean they actually need to do their job

So all of these people with missing character (including myself). Did all of you last log in before their maintenance last week? Just curious when you all last logged in with the character still in existence and then when you discovered it vanished? I logged in around sept 26th with the character still “there” and Oct 3rd it was gone. Nothing I did brought it back. I just want to know if it’s worth me restarting at this point.

The GM answer you quoted totally missed the point. This is the answer to the Question “I accidentally deleted my character. How can I get it back?” … so it is somewhat like a standard automatically created answer without reading the problem at all.
What we now know is that they still have issues with their database, so characters and items are randomly lost.
