Hi My PC crashed, due to power loss, while playing my offline character, lvl 90 Sorceress in D2R. When I started the game again she was gone, and I could not join an offline game. please assist me in getting my character back

Thats one thing I been asking myself, are your offline character stored online or only on your own computer. If you play offline and then log online, will they save your progress or you will have to back up the file yourself?
One of the main reasons I havent played offline, I like the security of a online copy. (Those that knows the answer will say ofcause it works this way, me I have no idea what that obvious way is).
Online Characters are saved on the server side (Blizzard’s servers). Offline Characters are saved client side (Players’ computer).
There’s nothing you can do about your Online Characters, except hope that Blizzard maintains their servers and fixes any issues.
You should always back up your Offline Character folder in case the files get corrupted. (Like when your system crashes). You can find your D2:R Offline Character files in your Saved Games folder.
For example, I have all my games installed on my D:\ drive. But, my D2:R Offline Character files are stored in:
C:\Users\perus\Saved Games\Diablo II Resurrected
At the end of each (Offline) game session where I was able to successfully Save & Exit and Quit Diablo II Resurrected, I back up my save folder to:
F:\Diablo II꞉ Resurrected\D2꞉R Backup Files\Saved Games\Diablo II Resurrected
If I crash or get disconnected, I do not back up my D2:R save folder. Instead, I wait until the next game session. If my Characters are still there, I back up after that game session. If my Characters are gone, I quit the game and copy my backup files into my Saved Games folder. Then, I run the game. Worst case is, I lose 1 game session of work.
To solve your problem, your savefile is corrupted. There is nothing you can do.
If you can’t play with other characters offline you have to delete your shared stash savefile. It’s corrupted too.
That’s why you should make backups.
I really wish they stored it online also. Its dangerous playing around with your save files, suddenly you dupe something and woops you ruined the game for yourself.

Yea i did some searching and you are correct , my shared stash file is corrupted. And yes there is nothing one can do…Goodbye my lvl 90 Sorceress with full Tals set and goodbye 150hrs spend playing…Dam joke if you ask me
Sucks, I wish they made a online copy when your logged in online. Having to make your own backups feels so 20 years ago.
I do it every Sunday since beginning. Just in case I throw something away or make something wrong. For me it’s normal but tbh a game should never corrupt the own savefiles.
When I played plugy I did it also. Then I started cheating and then I quit, even if I finally found tyraels might it wouldnt feel honest. (The only item left on my list, pretty useless but hey. After I get it not sure what i got left to do, just enjoy the game phf)
