I was playing last night and my connection got interrupted and disconnected me from battle net. When I connected back on my online character was gone… I’ve tried restarted battle net, creating a new character and all the other tricks it says online to try and get it back but I have been unsuccessful… it’s now been 12 hours since it’s disappeared and I haven’t been able to get it back. I’ve spent countless hours on this character please help me recover it!!! I had a level 60 javazon in act 3 of hell. I am so upset and disappointed in this game.
Ughhhhhh man there are so many of us !!! Same issue literally same thing happened to me lvl 70sorc !!! We need help !
54 lvl Sorc, same problem. Went to sleep after playing, and on the next day the character is gone. I’ve been waiting for two days with no response from Blizzard. And my support tickets got deleted, like nothing happened. Please help!
Sucks there is no easy way to contact them either to actually get a response… glad I paid money for a game that has very much disappointed me and wasted probably about 40 hours of my life by my character getting deleted…
I am not sure how the anti cheat system Warden works and i don’t expect Blizzard to explain that here.
Is it possible that this issue is somehow related to the Warden system?
Just like a anti virus software sometimes flags files which are actually safe.
Just a thought…
No. Warden does not touch the online saves.
Does this forum actually has some support people, to look at our accounts and tell us what actually happened. There is no chance to get help through ticket system as I can tell.
I can’t even figure out how to post a ticket it keeps routing me through the automated system for my issues and doesn’t let me contact anyone…
The forums are for players to discuss things with other players. This one does have Forum Support Agents who swing by at times. It is not a ticket system though where you are guaranteed an answer.
There are no logs showing what happened to your character so there is nothing they can review. The Diablo games don’t keep second by second logs. They do whole account saves and from what I can tell D2R is like D2 where there is no archive. If a char is lost, then the data is gone. Lost characters or items in D2, D3, and D2R can not be restored by Customer Support Tickets either.
IF a tech issue is discovered that might be causing vanishing chars, then Tech might have info to share, or the Community Managers. That would be something system wide though, not specific to your account.
It is not possible to restore a deleted character in Diablo II: Resurrected. Customer Support cannot restore deleted characters.
How do I create a ticket because I can’t seem to find it
You click the Support link at the top right of the website, then “Contact Support” and navigate the menu.
However, you can’t put in a ticket for a missing character or item in D2R because they don’t do restorations. They don’t have the logs and tools so that is not a service the offer.
If you lost a char with cross progression on Console a lot of the time that is due to linking to the wrong Bnet account which over writes the progress. You can resolve that by linking to the proper Bnet account that had your progress on it.
If you can’t find the Bnet account with your license they can help you as per that article.
Was there something else you would like to put in a ticket for?
It is not a ticket system though where you are guaranteed an answer.
First, it is not guaranteed. My two tickets got deleted with no answer. I’ve created a new one today. And have you seen the ticket system yourself? It is so convoluted, you just can’t categorize this issue right, with choices they give you.
They do whole account saves and from what I can tell D2R is like D2 where there is no archive.
Ok, so you are saying they can look at the account saved states and tell, that the character was there.
That would be something system wide though, not specific to your account.
It is not specific to my account. My friend’s character disappeared on Friday, but he was level 8, so he started a new one. My character was missing from the list a couple of times, but then appeared back after some time. Look at the peoples posts here. I’ve been playing this game since it went out in 2000, and it was my favorite game. I haven’t had any problems so far. And now four days of play are gone, with all of my runes and the best items.
I’m connected to the correct bnet account because when I created a new character there were a few items in my shared stash still. Also I play on xbox series x which doesn’t even give you an option that I can see for changing battle net accounts. I’m not new to this game I’ve played it very heavily when D2 first came out on PC 20 or so years ago.
Yes, I have. It can be confusing if you don’t know how to use it, or what things Support can help with (or not help with). That is why other players like me will usually be happy to help someone navigate the system or support articles.
Unless it is a duplicate ticket or you were told to stop ticketing on a specific issue, Support is not allowed to delete them. There is an issue many have though where the ticket does not submit correctly and they don’t get a ticket number. If you don’t get the email with the ticket number it did not go through.
No, they can look at the CURRENT save state and see it is not there. Apparently they don’t have multiple save states and have no tools go do that. CS can’t review logs they don’t have.
This is a separate issue. That is related to the Char Display list not refreshing. Usually making a new char or interacting with the new char interface, can kick the list into refreshing and showing the chars. Exception was when they were doing Maint.
I have seen them. There are missing chars for many reasons. Some of those can be resolved. However if it is well and truely GONE, there is no getting it back.
Why you wrote “It is not possible to restore a deleted character in Diablo II: Resurrected. Customer Support cannot restore deleted characters.”?
He didn’t delete the character. The character himself disappeared.
Because it does not matter why the char is deleted from the system. Accident, server issue, player error, etc. CS can’t restore it. That is why I quoted the article.
The exceptions are things where the char is not actually gone.
- Data is on a diff Bnet account and the player needs to be on that/linked to that. CS can help find the Bnet account with the played license.
- The Char Display list is not refreshing which can usually be fixed by creating a new char with a diff name to kick it to refresh. Otherwise it takes the Server folks to get the list working again.
People are free to report missing chars on the Bug Report forum for QA to look into. If the servers are doing something they should not, that is the right place to report it. While they can’t bring chars back, they may be able to stop it from happening, if it is happening.
Even so - CS does not work in QA, does not develop games, and only has the tools they are given. They can’t restore data they don’t have.
Wow, just wow. So you’re saying, that Blizzard is handling diablo 2 servers as it was a poorly written VPN service? A game, which game play is all about getting items and leveling your character doesn’t keep logs and char data to backup from??? Even d2gs (private server), made by fans, keeps all the logs and has ability to restore characters.
And I should just eat it, and walk away as nothing happened?
If I will create a new character, what is the guarantee against loosing it again.
There is no guarantee. Bugs can happen, server crashes and lost data can happen. Those are not good things, or desired things, or even things that are “ok”. Nobody can promise they won’t ever happen though.
Personally, I am being kind of careful right now. Taking it easy. I got rolled back twice around release and until things are stable, I am not going to risk losing a high level char.
They are working on stability issues, and have resolved some of the worst. Next I think is AVX? Then they will continue on down the list. Once servers and data are stable they proceed to less game breaking issues.
The support has been utter trash for this game. Characters being deleted, items missing, crashing constantly. At least the only avenue for support is helplessly posting on the forums with no guarantee of an answer. Sounds like a great game worth the money. Make an end game character just to have them deleted or rendered useless by bugs in the game. Sweet game.
Yeah I had a level 80 Amazon fully geared a lot of items in my personal stash. All gone it’s very sad. a game that we spend alot of money time effort into. That these people make billions of dollars off. Then it’s just gone no explanation from the support team. Have had a ticket open for days now. No real help what so ever… can someone make this make sense.???
