I’m sure I’m not the only one who thought of (or wanted) this, but Blizz team, please stay awhile and listen…
It’s apparent that Blizz has abandoned D2R over D4 mainly because of profit generation?
It is true that selling cosmetics can’t work in D2R, but if you could implement the following, surely there would be a promising market where some D2R players will be willing to pay real money for it?
Purchase additional stash tabs (or bag tab for charms)
Purchase additional character slots
Purchase additional functionality showing item stat range (so players don’t need to rely on non-official mods or keep jumping out from the game to check from external websites like arreat summit etc)
These would definitely be a win-win for both sides, please do something in the next upcoming season will you? Please make D2R great again. D4 is a total failure and you knew it no matter how much profit you’ve obtained from it, in contrast, there is still some hope and prospects for D2R, some residual value you could salvage fom if only you throw in some effort Blizz team…
Pretty much. If they were to do anything to any of the other games of the Diablo franchise to draw player interest, that would be the franchise competing with itself. Diablo 4 is their current franchise cash cow. With them planning on an expansion every ~2 years, Diablo 4 is as close to being a subscription model as it can be, without being a subscription model. Got to keep the players hooked with their wallets open.
Blizzard doesn’t care about old grizzled Diablo 2 players who think Diablo 4 is garbage. To Blizzard, they are a minority that is stuck living in the past.
Compare that to the ~50k players of D2:R, most of which are bots.
Why not, I posted this kind of idea like 1 year ago. Yes if they use this money to add/change think in the game, like uptade some unics and sets add new runewords or change the useless one (Yes we can dream, they add content and change stat in D3 until saison 28-29). If its for this i will buy 1-3 currency tab (no more than 5$ each), for additionnal tab and extra character slot I dont think i need atm but if other players want buy some go for it.
I’m down. Ive played enough to keep my nostagia in check. Id welcome developer attention to my favorite game of all time. The irony of resurected for me was that after playing it, diablo 4 was never going to do it for me. Lets go Microsoft!
