Just logged on, and noticed my mouse wheel wasn’t switching to the skills I had bound. Went into Options and it now says can’t use mouse wheel to bind skills.
why not?

Yea I was sad when I booted up the game with the new patch because of this. I think, from the dev’s perspective, it:

Since I used to use Middle mouse, and scroll wheels for skills, this is quite a difference I need to make in my bindings. I did assign “force move” to middle mouse though and previous/next skills to wheel up/down.
Yeah, if that’s what was needed to do the quick click, I’m fine with it. Will just take getting used to. Not going to play HC until I get that down.
Really disappointed by this change. Up and Down scroll can be bound to switching spells but not specific spells? This really frustrates me because now I need to use both hands instead of just my mouse to play.

This is actually breaking the game for me. I’m used to play this game with the scroll wheel bound for the last two decades and can’t easily change skills to my left hand (for physical reasons), nor easily press other buttons on my mouse.
Please revert this change.

This is a huge issue for me as well.
I’ve been playing with my primary skills bound to mouse wheel up and mouse wheel down for 10+ years at this point.
Please give us this option back!

This makes no sense. The zoom function is a 1 button press, not a scrolling feature. Just Zoom in / Zoom out. Not degrees of zoom.

Try it for yourself…press and hold “F”…then scroll up and down…boom, varying degrees of zoom

please for the love of tyreal give me back my mouse wheel. just lost 2 smooth transition skills for something completely uneccesary

I need mouse scrolling back or I will be forced to ask for a refund.
This is a basic legacy functionality that is 100% needed and core.
After over 1000 hours playing legacy my hardcore character will use teleport, I try to use a scroll primary damage ability and instead get nothing and keep teleporting.
This will take me days to relearn, only to die 1-3 weeks later accidentally teleporting slipping into 15 years of mental and muscle memory. In the process losing hundreds of hours of items and becoming nothing but infuriated at this company decision

exactly this, might be able to relearn but you will slip up after so much muslce memory has been built up over DECADES! 100% refund if this stays.

Sounds to me like they should just remove that feature since it is MUCH less important than the scroll-wheel bind. I’ve only ever used the scroll-wheel to change between my F-button assigned skills so it really doesn’t effect me.

In D2:LoD you could bind SINGLE Skills to Mouse Wheel Up and Mouse Wheel Down:
I’m guessing you could do this in D2:R too, before the latest Patch.
But now, you CANNOT bind SINGLE Skills to the Mouse Wheel (Up or Down) in D2:R:
Even though this does not affect me, I believe it should be fixed.
