Has anyone else seen this? Twice now my character has been completely unable to move. The rest of the game keeps running - this is not a “freeze”. And in fact mobs will keep attacking you and kill you if you don’t Save and Exit. This just happened to me this morning while trying to kill Baal’s throne room trash mobs.
I had this after taking a shrine.
I haven’t gotten that but I’ve gotten “can move but cannot cast abilities or interact with anything”.
Some guy said spam the graphics change (G) button but that didn’t work for me. Required full restart.
its only happened to me once so far, and yeah it got me killed because i just let it play out to see if i could get out of it… i believe it was in act 2 on the way to the arcane place when it happened

Happened three times to me now. It’s very annoying. Good thing I’m not playing HC else I would be super mad.

Yup, happened to me several times. The character just completely gets stuck and cannot be moved, as if it refuses to register any sort of input from the player.
The only way I manage to instantly solve it is by switching to a controller, which I have plugged in just for this bug.

Got stuck too. Couldn’t move, or execute any attack. I could open inventory, swap weapons though. Pretty random, was in the middle of fighting some trash in the Dark Wood on Nightmare.

Happened to me once during the beta, my merc kept me alive until I gave up and left the game.
are you sure you’re not getting stunlocked?
Hard to get stun-locked when there is no longer any enemies on the map.

I read the OP’s post, and I am speaking from having experienced the same bug. In the instances it happened to me (as in more than once), it has never been in a situation that could be considered stun-locked. It is a clear error that occurs between your ability to control your character and the engine running the game. The game continues to run, as you can watch NPCs, Mercs, Monters, ect, still moving, attacking, acting as usual. The first time it happened to me, there where no enemies on the screen. This was in act 1 catacombs on normal. My Merc then went and opened a door, cleared that room, then came back and wondered around me. I was unable to act, but everything else in the game continued as normal. The second time it happened in the Arcane Sanctuary, walking through an area I had already cleared, so once again, no chance of it being stun-locked.

Yes. There were no mobs around me the first time. And the second time I could open a TP, but couldn’t move to it to escape.

I have not experienced this in D2R, but in other games where the controls stop working as expected. Usually it is because modifier keys (shift, alt, ctrl, alt gr etc.) are stuck on, not literally but the computer seems to think they are pressed. Usually it can be resolved by pressing them again a few times.
Ofc this might be something entirely different.
I was just one seal away from NM Diablo a few minutes ago, and I got stuck like this. All controls working, can click on the buttons in the UI, but cannot attack or move my character. This has happened to me 3 times so far.
this happens to me alot, and is really starting to get on my nerves. I hope it will be adressed in some fix, but i am not expecting anything from blizzard.
Had this happen twice now. First time I was playing solo in a game where rng really was on my side, character froze, and everything else kept playing on normally. Had no choice but to exit game.
Second time I was just reorganising my stash. Took some stuff out to go sell to Charsi, and boom, could not move.
It really is irritating when it happens. Would be nice if it could be fixed.
I faced the same issue now when i was fighting Baal minions and it dropped sol rune, But I was not able to pick it up sad life… Because of this bug I lost a rare rune
Happened to me many times. It’s not related to shrines as it’s happened to me without clicking shrines on the map.
Even after my merc clears all the mobs and there’s nothing happening on the screen for minutes - I still could not move.
I tried changing every graphics setting, changed keybinds to see if that would reset input. Nothing helps. I can control stuff via keyboard and open inventory. Right clicking on tome of town portal opens a TP, but I can’t move to exit. Only fix is save and exit and make a new game
