I have the same Problem.
EU, Germany.
Me as well.
Since i have a old PC, i need to change to a better resolution in order to play.
I have the same Problem.
I manager to do it out side the game.
I setup my resolution before entering the game.
That solve the problem. It will be like this until they manager to do it in game.
Same here.
Hope they fix it.
Changing system resolution before entering is not a plausible solution.
+1
My monitors native res is 2560x1440, which is what Windows is set to as well. D2R forces this res in fullscreen mode and it can’t be changed.
We’re in the same boat, they still haven’t fixed this issue in 2024
I wonder what they’re doing, or if they ever listen to the complaints.
Guys … seriously? Are you not aware of what “Fullscreen” is?
“Fullscreen” means the game uses the resolution set in your OS for your screen. If you want less either reduce your OS resolutiion or go with Windowed Mode.
9X.99% of online games can operate in Full Screen at different resolutions.
“Fullscreen” by any operative standards mean whatever you set your capable resolution to. “Fullscreen” can even mean 2*2 if it’s capable of being processed by the program and your PC…
Full screen does not mean it HAS to rely on your OS resolution, you can configure it to downscale - when you do that it operates on your GPU mathematically.
I know jack all about computers, I’m probably not wording right but cmon man you haven’t played any other games your whole life? Native resolution can be downscaled by your GPU and act “full screen”. It saves processing power.
At least you know that…
a) Fullscreen is what you set in your OS and GPU driver, be it your screens Native Resolution, classic HD or a 4k+ upscale. You can set your resolution to whatever your system can handle but in the end it is always just1 resolution and all programs are limited to / by it when set to “fullscreen mode”.
b) Downscaling 4k+ to HD requires more then using HD straight, meaning downscaling does NOT save processing power. Set your resolution properly if you want to save power.
Full Screen is what it says Full Screen. In Resurected Full Screen is Borderless Maximized window, that’s why you cannot change the resolution. On my IBM P77 i could have from 640x480 to 1920xx1440 and they were all fullscreen.
b) Really? When you want to play with lower resolution in a game, on higher resolution monitor its upscaling and it can be done by monitor even.
Edit:
Found another post on the forum why it is maximized borderless window:
the most hilarious thing about the in game res is that my monitor is a FHD monitor meaning it supports 1920x1080 at maximum, yet it also supports some crazy GPU feature called VSR which basically enables higher resolutions than physically possible by means of increasing pixel density on screen, and so despite having a FHD screen diablo launches at 3200x1800…
and there are two ways of reducing the strain on the gpu
1# is to lower the system settings or turning off VSR
2# is setting the in game scaling slider to match FHD resolution, so instead of sitting at 200% scaling which gives true res of 6400x3200, i set the resolution scaling in game to 60% which is exactly 1920x1080 or FHD which is excactly 60% of 3200x1800… problem solved
