I was playing last night, went to sleep, woke up, and now can not connect to the server. It will let me play offline without issues. Nothing has changed in that time on my end. I tried resetting our modem / router, refreshing the DNS, disabling Windows firewall, power cycling everything, but no luck. No VPN on either.
Itās been my issue since Thursday night. Iāve tried everything from reinstall, resetting battle net, disconnecting and reconnecting my device, resetting authenticator, internet reboots. I have no vpn either. Many others have zero issues. Itās maddening.
Same issues but downloaded the game last night. Cannot connect to servers for authentication so I canāt even play offline. Done all the same things. Internet works fine, reinstalled, reset modem/router⦠nothing.
Ok, seriously, I could use some help with this. I still havenāt been able to get on for the past few days. Could someone please look into this for me or provide me with some help? I can click āOfflineā and see my offline characters, but āOnlineā just errors out to āCannot Connect To Serverā.
Similar Issue here. Worked fine this morning, tried to log in tonight = āCanāt connect to server.ā Iāve verified everything on my end and done every step possible to no avail. Reset modem/router/pc, release and renew Ip as well as dump DNS, Ran virus scans cleared everything and updated all drivers.
Iām extremely disappointed myself, totally uninstalled and reinstalled got a character online to level 16 now I canāt connect failed authentication.
Blizzard needs to fix this ā¦
Iāve tried everything and feel let down to be honest.
Contact support and hear nothing back?
Iāll no doubt be asking Microsoft for a full refund.
David on Xbox One Series X New Zealand.
Look at how many issues there are, itās not customers issues, itās at their end.
Bet they were overwhelmed on the amount of people signing up, surely they have servers that can cope with the volume of players worldwide and own up ā¦
Blizzard Staff already admitted to have some server issues but there are currently no mass reports (that was 6 days ago).
Connection issues can have several causes and in most cases the users try to blame the server side while ignoring everything in between and their own end. I am not trying to defend Blizzard here because they should definitly do their homework as well.
However simply blaming Blizzard for connection issues because other games are working fine is not enough.
I would suggest to investigate your end first and get help from your ISP. Additionally you can ask for help here and provide requested information to further troubleshoot.
Not a final solution but after following their advice my sitatuation improved a lot.
Day 3, still can not connect. Wired connection. Performed all troubleshooting steps found here. I was able to play prior to the 26, but as of Sunday morning, nothing. Zilch. Nada. Just submitted a ticket to blizzard.
Just adding my name to this list here. I have no issue playing any other Blizzard game online or any other game. Internet is fine. But for some reason D2R is giving me the āCanāt connect to serverā error. Since Iāve bought and downloaded the game this has been the case. I can play offline fine⦠but anytime I try and switch to online characters it errors out. Makes zero sense how this could be on the users end when literally every other Blizzard game works perfectly fine.
Same problem for me. Since last patch Iām getting this on a contionous basis. Itās a nightmare. Called my ISP and he checked everything and it works without problems. Every other game also works. This is a Blizzard problem. The game is not playable since Tuesday.
Iāve āsolvedā the problem by using VPN, 3rd day at row have no problems. But i think itās not a solution. Iāve tried to contact support, but they can only answer ādelete this program, disable antivirus, check firewall and etcā.
When i told i have no problems while using VPN, they answered that: āI am glad that you managed to at least temporarily fix the problem.
Unfortunately, the support team cannot fix such errors in the game. If you have a few minutes, it is best to leave a message about the problem with the collected files on the game forumā.
They donāt try to fix the problem. I have Wireshark dumps, but they donāt interested in it.
Worst game supporting ever.
Good news, everyone! Iām connected! Hereās what I tried:
In the Battle.net Launcher, thereās a gear icon right next to the āPlay Nowā button. Click on that, and do āScan and Repairā. No idea what it did, but I was able to connect after that!
EDIT: An update!!!
Good news / bad news:
The good news is that doing the āScan and Repairā does fix it! The bad news is that it happens to be once every day or so, and Iām having to do a āScan and Repairā all the time to get back online.
Hope this helps anyone out there! Blizzard did end up getting back to me, and verified that this is one of their fixes for this issue. Iām going to let them know it does get me back online, but the root cause of the problem still exists where I am getting kicked off every few days for some reason.
