Can we region lock asia realm please

granted it wont fix everything, but it will certainly make things much better.
and i dont just mean in stopping spam bots and sell sites

im part of the dclone community.
there are about 10-20 asia walks per NA walk

and maybe 5x EU walks as NA walks.

the idea that asia is not botting or duping and things aren’t being transferred cross realms is absurd.

while i personally don’t care about things being easier to obtain here. ( as i like to play multiple characters per season and its hard to gear them all up)
I know a TON of players complain about it… locking asia out from trading would be a huge improvement.

and yeah obviously they can vpn in… but they would then have to farm gear on NA, which would be a much bigger hassle for them.

it wont end it completely, but it would make a huge difference

How about not. I am a NA player, but I have a few friends i like to play with on Aisa. They paid for the game and have as much right yo play as you. I dont really care that you cannot sell your elitest annis for 2 ber runes because they have some avsilable at a lower cost.

eyeroll

right I’m the one being selfish because i don’t want bots and dupes in this realm.
I’m the one being selfish because i don’t want spam bots to completely ruin communication between actual players in lobby.

this has nothing to do with anni prices, i farm dclone because i love the fight… i give the annis away. after i have more than i need

and the walks are realm wide. its not suddenly going to make annis worth something.

i have no issue with Asian players.

i have an issue with how Asia allows botters and sell sites to ruin games planet wide rather than in their own local area.

this isn’t my first choice for a solution here, or my 2nd… but its the easiest one for blizzard team to implement because god forbid they had to do something properly.

if they would actually ban the botters, or at sell site spammers. or at the ABSOLUTE MINIMUM allow us to BLOCK them.

maybe it wouldn’t come to this…
but apparently blizzard wont do any of those.

and your also acting like this hasn’t been how its been for 20 years.

d2 NEVER had cross realm trading in LOD

even NA was split between east as west.
i don’t have an issue with cross realm play, but if blizzard is completely incapable of handling Asia properly, then they should at LEAST bandage the wound so it stop polluting our servers

And as we all know, there was no botting nor duping going on, on any realms ever! xD

it didn’t have sell sites spamming in lobby that’s for sure.

thats what I care about. all the other reasons are things that other people care about.

i personally don’t give a damn about the actual botters… hell the botters who ran baal and chaos in LOD were freaking useful, we had trivia bots in server and stuff. and i loved those trivia bots
they were amazing because i cant type and while i would usually solve it first it would be me trying to type it correct like 6 times while other people trying to guess what i was writing and say it.

if people want to pay to win… that doesn’t affect me… i don’t give a damn about the ladder.

what i care about is the spam bots, and being able to block them.

its everyone else that cares about the “economy”.

all i care about is being able to communicate in the game and the game lobby.

this just fixes both issues.

i would be perfectly fine with just a block list

You are late to the Diablo 2 experience haha! D2 LoD had a massive bot and 3rd party item seller problem complete with a flood of bots that would join your game so fast and leave that it would be full bugged and no one else could join. Not to mention many hacks, and dupe methods. It was truly awful!

It would be interesting to see what happens if Blizz did as you asked OP. Worth trying, I am not sure it would work, and I do not expect Blizz will do it. But it would be interesting to see if anything changed.

all of which u could block, i will take that anyday over the spam bots we get in lobby.
you could easily download an offline block list with thier names.

bots joining games for a few second and leaving is nothing compared to literally not being able to communicate with people

As a player that would be affected by this change, no thank you!

If you hate spam bots, make a pw game and go play with yourself.

and here we have a genius who thinks the spam bots are in the game and not the lobby

After seeing the traderie posts of players selling 100+ stacks of perfect maras, 100+ jahs for crafting ingredients, etc…I switched to single player; multiplayer felt way too easy if you traded. In single player I can at least keep my ladder exclusives.

But also, part of the inspiration for me going to singleplayer was not realizing how many unique features of singleplayer are just more fun than multiplayer (regardless of bots).

The real solution is to stop botting/make it significantly more difficult. I’d happily accept a valorant-esque intrusive anticheat if it stopped 90% of botters.

I don’t think realm-locking will change a thing, tbh, but I’m with you on wishing for some solution to at least stopping the spam.

They could just add a captcha and change up how it works all the time. Wouldn’t eliminate all bots, but make them much much more difficult and expensive to run. I wouldn’t mind having to fill out a captcha every 20 games or few hours if it meant a saved economy. Lost Ark did this and it eliminated all bots overnight. So much so that their population was exposed as 95% bots, so they got rid of the measure quickly.

I would outright quit if the capcha was anything like steam. I am stuck in a loop for 30 min trying to log on my own account. Never purchased a game since they added that crap.

as much as we would like to have d2r in the greatest place it can be its just not going to happen… they dont respond to anything in there official forums and if u have a question about any other blizzard product u can go to twitter/X and ask them and they will respond as long as its not D2R…you wanna know about OW2/ WoW/ D:I/ D IV… someone will reply…the only way to stop the botting has to come within and they just dont care because its not as big of a revenue stream…were the minority because we dont pay a sub fee/ mtx…ITS THEIR INVESTORS THEY CARE ABOUT…NOT YOU NOR ME

Bots can defeat captcha, passively. Submitting to spyware is the only avenue forward, so like everything else Blizzard we are going to continue moving backwards instead.

Out of curiosity, are we talking about the communities that farm and sell SoJs that drop, by hoarding them and them dumping them suddenly to make Diablo clone appear? Because in NA it just went from 3/6 to 6/6 in a minute, no one had a chance to react, and in the public game I was in an assassin from one of those groups came in and killed the clone before I could even switch out of MF gear - maybe 60 seconds.

If so, these groups are exploiting Blizzard’s poorly conceived and implemented Diablo clone system and not letting players try their hand at the uber clones. I have an anni and I’ve beaten the uber Tristram bosses, the solo Diablo clone is the only one I have left to kill. And I can’t ever get it done because those groups dump the SoJs, since Blizzard has no sense to put at least an hour timer between when you get the stage 5 notification and the next stage.

Honestly, if this is the kind of group you’re part of, these groups are THE problem, not the dupers. And I hate dupers, but not as much as people who deny others content.

umm i can guanetee no one who knows an anni is going to spawn is going to go to a public game when you can just make a private game and 100% guanetee you dont need to fight anyone for it

the people joining your game to kill dclone are not the people who spawned it… they are in thier own game.

as to why they walk so quickly, i have no idea.

that has never been common among anni groups which i participate in,

about 95% of walks happen on asia servers, becuase of the botting/duping there

I really dont care about trading. I have friends on the other side of the eorld i really enjoy playing with. The internet has gotten better since 2003. It can handle a wider player base further apart.

I do agree botting is an issue. But locking Aisa isnt the right answer.
