Today, again, I’ve reset the Hell maps in my single player sorc and I am mad now. I was farming Lower Kurast Super chests (really fun) and accidentally made a nightmare game which reset my beautiful Lower Kurast map.
You could back up your character files…
C:\users\username\my games\Diablo II Resurrected\
Make copies of all charname.* files.
Additionally, you can set the map seed in the game arguments. In the Battle.net app, go to the game options, enable arguments and add “-seed #”
The # is a signed 32bit integer, but appears it can’t be negative (can’t do -seed -8123135 for example), so it can be 0 through 2147483647.
If you force the seed to be the same number, the maps won’t change even if you switch difficulties.
Use letters to start the game. Click play then hit N or H for nightmare and hell respectively. I think Normal is R. Get in that habit and you never misclick into map loss. Play then H always takes you into Hell which is where you’re gonna be farming anyway.
there i fixed the quote for you.
I nearly choked on the morning coffee reading this. Well played.
(Thanks blizzard for this trash forum removing the quote when i quote and if you click reply… it does not actually reply correctly)
i mean tho really, common. WE ALL know this is how it works. if they don’t want a new map on their sorc maybe don’t do that? LOL. i’m laughing so hard.
Ok but I never said it wasn’t my fault you little troll on the diablo 2 resurected forums. Everyone knows it was my fault, including myself. the only one unaware of how to read the room was you. hahaa my sides iim laughing so hard rn >.<
The issue is that the bother that adding that message would be to the community is heavier than the bother occasional accidental map resets cause to it.
You may want to try experimenting fiddling with the save files a little. Not entirely sure how it works, but I suspect what current map is being used on what difficulty is stored on your character’s .map file, so maybe you could back it up when you have a map layout you like, and then put it back when you make a mistake. The game cycles between .ma0, .ma1, .ma2 and .ma3 for your map saves (I mean, every time you change difficulty, it will create a new map on one of those four files), so if you are very lucky, maybe removing the last one(s) could get you back your wanted layout, though I really cannot guarantee it.
If you experiment sufficiently with the system, you may learn how to switch between layouts, so that you can have layouts depending on what you want to do. It’s not my thing, as I’d rather have a new layout every time I open the game, but if you want to manipulate it, it’s most likely possible.
PS : I realize not everyone knows where to find their character saves. Just search your character’s name on your PC. You’ll find a bunch of files with its name and various file suffixes. The place where those files are is your save folder. In my case, it is C:\Users\Utilisateur\Saved Games\Diablo II Resurrected but I guess it might differ on other players’ systems.
really? cuz when you did it you were, SO MAD, at your own stupidity. and also 2 months later, maybe you’ve had time to calm down and realize how silly your post is. LOL. what a joke.
