Can we get increased weapon throw range for barbarians

Please consider the range of weapon throw.

For a ranged skill it requires you to be quite close, when compared to throw javazons or arrows or any ranged single target skill like fireball/bonespear/lightning fury/lightning, etcetera.

I think a 20-30 yard increase would be amazing.

Throw weapons each have different distances they will travel.

For example: Wraith Flight goes much further than Gimmershred.

Wraith Flight goes about 2 screens out, where Gimmershred barely reaches 1/2 of a screen.

Huh, I wonder why… I don’t know what to say now. I wish they were all the same.

It’s likely a flight decay value for each throwable weapon base, which is likely a number of game ticks they will travel before disappearing.

Throwing Knives and Throwing axe types reach about 3/4 the way to the corner of the screen.
Javelin types reach about 1.5 screens away.

This makes Knives and Axes almost unusable, which is why the most effective throw barbs use javelins.

Yes, please increase the throw range of Knives and Axes!

Irl, a javelin will simply travel further than a knife or axe simply due to the flights to help stabilize it.

IRL we wouldnt be spawning skeletons or calling down a bolt of lightning that streams in 20 directions after it slams into a walking corpse or demon. Furthermore I think the game would be more fun if they were homogenized as far as playing with different options.

I understand the point though, but to that end, I would say barbarians have insane strength, and should be able to throw anything father than 15-20 yards. I know they didn’t skip leg day, and I am sure being able to dual wield 2 handed swords one in each hand, is sufficient enough an argument to dissolve any argument that they lack the power to throw them at any meaningful distance.

To iterate more on this point, barbs are tough brutish people that thrive on knowing how to deal increased damage (critical strike) with their strength, and know where to hit (mastery points) for added attack rating.

Do they really need another synergy to increase the range?

Are they going to break down throwing mastery into javelins and axes now?

I think making them homogenized would be ideal coding work, and would be fun for those wanting to try different options instead of only seeking out javelins to get range.

This might be detrimental to how it was originally played though, as those ultra rare eth/replenish/enhanced damage/fools weapons wouldn’t be as tough to find, as you could now use axes. However we can craft axes, but not javelins, are they merely a stepping stone to another 1 in 10293098213009 chance of finding a crazy item, just like warshrike’s and lacerator’s?

Use your head. Even though it is fantasy, some mechanics are based on reality even though its a rough approximation. Just look at stamina, use it up and you are walking. Blocking is another subtle example being based on dexterity rather than str and having certain shields recover quicker after successful block (faster block rate).
