Can we contest a hardcore death due to battlenet dropping the conncection?

Yay or Nay? Can we contest a hardcore death due to battle net dropping the connection?

It unfortunate, but no, I’ve been there, and it’s why I now play sc.

It’s in the manual of original D2, I don’t think that’s changed.

RIP hc chars. Insta disconnect and dead when getting back in

Note: Blizzard Entertainment is in no way responsible for your Hardcore character. If you choose to create and play a Hardcore character, you do so at your own risk. Blizzard is not responsible for the death and loss of your hardcore characters for any reason including Internet lag, bugs, Acts of God, your little sister, or any other reason whatsoever. Consult the End User License Agreement for more details. Blizzard will not, and does not have the capability to restore any deceased Hardcore characters. Don’t even ask. La-la-la-la-la, we can’t hear you…

That’s was the quote he linked.

I mean to be fair it’s called “Hardcore” not “Mediumcore.”

Sue is right. It’s in the disclaimer that you must agree to when creating a hardcore character. They will not restore the character for any reason what so ever, which includes any reasons that you are not in control of, such as issues that may happen on their end.

If you don’t care about the reasons for you dying, then you are truly hardcore. If there is any reason that you would care about dying, then stick with softcore.

Every time one of these pops up it just reaffirms my decision to not play HC.

I’m not going to try hardcore until the game has been stable for some time. I have a good connection and a stable system, so my end of the stability is covered.

Another thing is that the sun is still progressing into its solar maximum… Sunspots, flares, coronal mass ejections… All the fun stuff that can knock out our power grids and disable communications. I might be waiting a while. lol

I played HC for months completely stable right after launch. NEVER had my character stuck in game due to a disconnect.

Most HC players dont mind RIPping to a legit internet DC, or their own mistake, but for blizz to just pull the carpet out is pathetic, thats all. Everyone should expect better than that

What’s interesting about this question is that I’ve always steered clear of HC mode because I don’t want to lose my character, progression and time into a character to have it taken away due to something that wasn’t my fault.

Everyone insisted that they don’t have lag or connection drop issues and that it’s a nonfactor, which we all know is a stupid claim.

Just goes to show you a zealot will lie to sell their point.

I played for months at launch in HC and never once had a character trapped in a game by a disconnect. I had client crashes but no “lockups” where people were trapped.

Many, many people had the same experience as me. This is not a server connection issue its a total lack of professionalism on Blizz’s side. this is EASY, NO BRAINER, commonsense, incredibly obvious communication needed from them and we didnt get it, and we got screwed.

How do you know that it was BNET servers who ultimately had the issue and disconnected your client? How do you know it wasn’t your ISP having a momentary blip and caused your game to crash? How do you know it wasn’t your modem dropping the connection? How do you know it wasn’t your computer’s communication hardware that dropped the connection?

Any of those could have happened, and the result would have been the same eg. you getting a “connection dropped” error in D2R.

Well, I dont know for certain. I have some evidence though.

  1. Ive never been stuck in game due to a disconnect, ever. In many hours of play since launch.

  2. Maaaaany people had this happen.

  3. It coincided with planned down time.

Sure I dont know 100% but, how about you stop wasting peoples time :stuck_out_tongue:

So it was a known downtime of the servers and you’re still complaining?

you are R’ded. hundreds of people died at the same exact time with the same error message “cannot connect to servers”.

So means there are hundreds of dumasses just like you who can’t read a posted message outlining when the servers will be down for scheduled maintenance.

In this case, its you, “3 Years Later” even the necromancers are jealous of this one.

Make A char on HC and one on SC so you have something left next time.
