Just bought D2R and have been trying to log in for the last 8 hours on switch. I’ve reinstalled but still can’t get past the title screen, stuck on ‘connecting to battle.net’
Why can’t I log in and play offline? Why can’t I log in when I have flight mode on? I didn’t buy this game to play online.
Nintendo have refused to refund…. Just wasted £35

i have a switch copy, up to date, and doesn’t need any internet for offline.
I literally just installed it and it is up to date.
You have to disconnect your console so it’s offline when starting the game.
Try airplane mode.
Tried turning airplane mode on, so no internet, and relaunched the game - get a switch message saying please turn off flight mode, and then when I get to the title screen I get the message ‘failed to authenticate, please try again’
Well that’s a bummer. I have my PS5 disconnected and works 
I bet you have you pay for Nintendo Online to access the offline features. Seems like the stupid corporate BS agreement that would be forced on consumers nowadays.
Welcome to the dumpster fire. When you get online, you’ll be able to start chapter 2 of why this game is turning out to be a total bust

I dont understand? Yall must be having issue I dont on PS4. I never have had issue playing offline… Maybe you guys are failing to authenticate it properly? idk… Its like a 6 step process lol.
So just to be clear, I have no issue playing offline while connected to the internet, even when servers arent working… offline has nothing to do with that stuff…
I’m not sure what your experience on a playstation has to do with this user’s experience on his Switch.
Regardless, that’s the problem isn’t it? The user only has six steps, they follow the six steps and then the product doesn’t do what it’s supposed to.
Well considering the experience on PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch are all the same so… how is my experience different??? Maybe there is issues I’m unaware for new ppl just getting the game past couple days, and you cant get a authentication properly at the moment? Anyways yeah… why do you think the experience on Switch is different? All console players are playing the same exact version. Only PC is different.
The experience on the playstation, xbox and switch are not the same. The reason being the consoles are not the same. They are built with different hardware and handled by different vendors (Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo). So there are several examples of variables that make your experience on playstation not a good control group for user experience on switch.
I finally got logged in for the first time after 10+ hours trying!! Managed to make an online and offline character.
Still get a ‘connecting to battle.net’ message at the title screen though so hopefully I can still get in for offline play if this happens again. Was hoping it was just to authenticate my first login…
yet you fail to tell me how it is any different… oh wait… it isn’t… nothing you said makes for an argument…
Just so you understand, this isn’t like other typical games, where all console versions actually are different. D2R all console versions are the same port.
RIght on man. I always see that at title screen though, that isn’t unusual. It is just connecting you to the servers, or trying to at least.

Bumping this because it’s still an issue. Queues are +2 hours, so I select play offline, and it fails to authenticate. Wash, rinse, repeat. Congrats, blizzard, you sold me a $50 title screen because that’s as far as I’ll ever get.
I haven’t seen a queue in months
from the first patch to me it usually appears, very occasionally, a queue of two minutes that in reality does not last more than 15 seconds, nothing serious
