Bring back Jay Wilson

He would take the servers and doubled it. We wouldn’t have to wait in line to play a game we paid for.

I don’t know that he stands behind it (maybe he does?). He did leave rather quickly. And took up authoring, no?

I belive he was lead dev of it back then do i guess most game system decisions goes behind him. I think he even said that he didnt play d2.

He was the lead Dev, but, that wasn’t my angle. I was leaning more towards, he’s probably real glad he broke on out when he did. And, im not so sure had all the say he wanted. CEO > Devs.

I dont want to talk about it anymore. Possibly hot topic to talk about on blizz forum

Haha, could be. But yea, all good, i don’t have much more to say about that anyways.

What’s hilarious is that D3 was arguably better at launch : Inferno was a real challenge, loot didn’t rain from the sky, and rares could be BIS. Plus, playing the auction house was fun. Two things ruined the game : the guy(s) above Jay Wilson, and the players who wanted to be spoon-fed gg items.

I would totally agree with this. D3 performance and stability at release, eats this for breakfast. Error 37 didn’t go on for a month, IIR.

That said… imo, D2 > D3 for all of eternity.

Please no. Keep him away from anything Diablo. He’d be pay2win monetizing everything in this game. He’d probably bring back the old rune drop rates, then charge fees for a 24 hour drop chance boost, chance based upon the tier you choose.

Ye he said early D3 version looked and worked too much like D2 and wasn’t worth releasing. Game was doomed since then.

Selective memory.

Rares where BiS period. Good items all sold for 2 B’s. That’s 2 billion gold. Godly items all went to the real money auction house.

In order to progress, you had to buy new gear from the AH because the junk that dropped on the content you could handle was trash.

Yes inferno mode was refreshingly hard. Gearing up was atrocious. It wasn’t a good time.

The funny thing was, A1 was not so bad, i mean, it was , but it was doable, by anyone i feel.

Than, you get to act II, you run down the hill out of town… and WHAM! What in da Sam … Yea, nice bugs.

Oh the D3 vanilla memories of dropping down to Hell difficulty to farm gold to repair gear.

My HotA barb was a tanky beast tho. Towards the end of D3 Vanilla, he could lay the smack down on the ubers in Inferno while the other three players were dead. :stuck_out_tongue:

All of d3 was a failure.

Jay Wilson’s version was better than current

I found d3 at launch to be quite fun. The difficulty meant sometimes you actually had to work together.

It juts needed some tweaks before turning into the dumpster fire it currently is.
