Long Story short. I have a Zod Rune. I was going to make Breath of the Dying in a Zerker Axe, but I’m wondering is it actually stupid to just make it in a War Spike (not War Pike) where i can get my max IAS break point at 30 IAS rather than 65?
Edit: I ask b/c it would be diffcult for me to hit 65% IAS in my current set up.
I know the average dps is lower with the even if you only hit 2.5 attacks per sec with Zerker axe to 2.77 with War Spike, but surely the extra Open wounds/ crushing blow/ chances to deadly strike count for something with the War Spike?
Have you simulated it at d2planner? It may help you decide.

I ended up rolling it in the Eth Zerker Axe, just because i figured the tradeability might be stronger later. However, it’s probably the worst runeword I’ve ever rolled: 351% ED.
I am actually so mad LOL!

my 365 is low, but not complete crap … 
I went botd and death in axes and was so upset with the results i stopped playing a couple of weeks into ladder, to start again next season.
Life is just too hard in hell as a frenzy barb without lawbringer. Grief lawbringer are miiiiiiillllesssss better than the rest. And you know you only need 134 dex and pretty much everything else goes into vit.
Botd also has damage to undead and with that, its unrivaled vs Chaos Sanctary. Even out performs Grief vs undead and imo, is the better choice for life leach, and mana leach. Death is a poor choice for most builds, but its ok for double swing or concentrate. Ebotdz + Beast Z is the way to go.
The main reason you don’t want to make it in a War Spike is the addition to range. It only adds 1 whereas a Beserker Axe adds 2. This is a really big deal, especially withe wonky animation when you ‘near miss’
As for best of the best, my preference is Death and Last Wish in Collossus Blades. People look at huge straight damage numbers and vastly overvalue this compared to Crushing Blow nowadays.
Grief is good, and it is a lot cheaper than Last Wish, but vs Ubers…sorry %damage wtf pwns anything Grief can do.
If you aren’t using Double Swing at all, then you are doing it wrong.
Grief wins in chaos sanctuary for me - although mana leech can be a problem.

All the attack in the world. 60% crushing blow with some open wounds and considerable deadly strike. Every single otem helps you kill, with only the belt not provid8ng damage.
It is true that last wish is incredible for ubers, but i dont want t for day to day gaming. Also, i jave never even had one Ber in the history of this game.
