Bowazone Attack Speed

I made multishoot/guided arrow Bowazone with 150% IAS, is this correct to do? I am using the Windroforce bow with a Shael rune in it and a Valkyrie Veil with a 15% IAS in it and a armor with life and 3x15% IAS and the glove with 20% IAS and the amulet with 20% IAS and the belt with 10% IAS it seems like I fire the mUltishoot very fast I just wanted to know if this is too much IAS or too little IAS or just right IAS

The speed of the attack and its maximum value is also related to the basic speed of the weapon.

The slower the weapon’s basic value, the higher the breakpoints for the next higher IAS, i.e. more attacks per second.

The Windforce bow has a base of (10). It therefore requires more IAS to achieve the best IAS, in contrast to a bow with a base of (5), (0) or even (-10).

If I’m not mistaken, a (-10) base bow achieves the best IAS at 142% IAS.

A bow with (10) needs 292% IAS for its limit to shoot the same number of arrows per second as the (-10) bow.

All this without factoring in the fanaticism aura, then this changes dramatically downwards from a certain fana aura.

The Windforce is a solid bow for Hell, but it also depends a lot on the rest of the equipment. The Bow Amazon is a B-tier in terms of damage. You notice this relatively quickly in fuller Hell games. Those who can afford the expensive 20/20/3 small charms, etc.
A yellow bow with a lot of xxx% ED and the Amplify Damage Curse of 5% + Atmas Amu with another 5%, as well as something like 2x CoA with 40% ED jewels etc., can still passably survive in a P4-5 game in Hell, but will be amazed when a Mosaic-Assa, a Javazon or a Nova-Sorc mows everything down, even a Lightning Strike Ama with Infinity Spear cleans up mightily.

But you didn’t answer my question. Is it enough? I’m not using any auras, just 150% attack speed with Windforce. Idk if it’s possible to get 300% attack speed for me like you say

150 IAS Windforce gets you to the 8-Frame(3.125 APS) breakpoint for pretty much any Bow Attack except Strafe. Strafe has its own unique breakpoints that only require 80 IAS to hit it’s final 5/3/7(15 Frames) breakpoint. To hit the final 7-frame breakpoint for everything but Strafe, you’d need 292 IAS, which is simply not possible.

Yet if you grab a Faith Mercenary(level 14-15 Fanaticism), all you need to hit the final 7-Frame breakpoint is 92 IAS. This is even if you equip Faith yourself in a Grand Matron Bow so to hit that breakpoint, I often recommend 20 IAS Gloves, Cat’s Eye/Highlords Amulet and then 60 IAS amongst your Weapon, Helm and Armor. I save the Belt for Razortail to get 100% Pierce. Most Bowzons opt for 3 Socket Diadem(Jeweler’s Diadem of Speed) or Bone Helms for 3 x 40/15’s to get 45 of that 60, leaving just 10-15 IAS to go. Therefore all you need is a Unique Body Armor(Glad’s Bane or Tyreal’s with Cannot Be Frozen are optimal picks) with a single IAS Jewel to hit the breakpoint. Rings and Boots are then up to w/e you want.

You can also use a “Hustle” in a bow on switch, and shoot strafe a few times to get the “Burst of Speed (BoS)” buff. This also greatly increases your attack and walk/run speed. I use this for windforce builds. It’s very easy, and not time consuming.

The 8fpa breakpoint has always felt not very different from 9fpa for me, with 7fpa being a very noticeable difference. I opt to aim fr the 9fpa break point, and fill in with better damage sources like deadly strike, crushing blow, or flat damage. My bowzon hits 60k dps with strafe, and about 18k guided arrorow, 11k multi. This is factoring in amp and deadly/crit. Amp is not always on, so of course that’s padding the damage, but it’s a very significant phys bowzon build. I like it because it’s nostalgic and looks cool.

However, to answer your question, you are 1 frame from max speed. Which is why I would recommend making your hits harder, or making them faster. I opt to go for harder hits. But with the speed you have currently, if you added a hustle and not faith, it looks like you’d still be able to hit the fastest attack speed breakpoint if I am reading the calc correctly. Looks like you need 138% ias with burst of speed activated.

Your next target should be a RW Faith Bow. However, it is not so cheap due to the Jah rune and the base for the GMB with best +15% ED is extremely rare and correspondingly expensive.

If you have this bow, you can and should put on the Atmas Amulet at some point. The 5% chance of the curse is especially helpful in Hell.

Your mercenary should be from Act2 NM with the power aura. Give him a polearm, preferably ethereal, with the rune word Pride to have 2 damage auras.

For armor, give him an ethereal chain of honor so that he can withstand something. For the head you can vary, so that his survival is ensured, or give them a e.g. cleansing aura, which is quite useful.

Their equipment should consist of yellow 20% IAS +2 Bow +LL or and resistance gloves.

If I’m not mistaken, in NM or Hell up to a certain level the NPC also sells blue +30% IAS +2 Bow gloves, but they are rare and best bought from Anya, because you can quickly get out through the portal.

Their armor can be a RW Forty +300% ED, or if they want to teleport then an Enigma, which lowers the damage.

Shoes Gorerider for the nice stats on it, crushing blow and death blow.
Head is a Crown of Aeons x2 socketed and in there Jeweln with +40% ED and 15% IAS.

You are more flexible with the rings. Wisp projector gives the druid’s damage spirit. But it doesn’t last very long, it increases the damage a little. Ravenfrost is useful to avoid being frozen. Bul kathos also works, but is not as important as you might think.

Amulet goes Highlords for a while, but with Faith Bow an Atmas Scarab is much stronger and that procs often.

In the inventory next to torch and ani, skiller or better charms with +xx damage, which is all very expensive. And of course a Bone Breaker Charm.
The belt razortail is then exchanged for a Nosferatus with enough points in pierce.

If you are lucky enough, or have enough Jah runes (you should plan with up to 100 when trading), then you can exchange the faith bow for a yellow bow with a lot of xxx%+ ED so as much damage as possible, IAS on it, sockets and the most important thing the 5% chance to Amplify Damage… together with the Atmas amulet this becomes 10% chance, which is then really very good procct and strong. But who has a bow that does 500 damage and has these stats on it?
You can trade something like that for an infinite number of Jah runes at swap meets…

With best in slots stuff and the inv full + to damage charms, you can get over 10k damage, then when the curse procs, the damage doubles.
My best amazon has with this equipment, but without a top yellow bow at least almost 7000 damage and plays quite ok with faith bow.

The curse proc really makes life easier. But it still gets noticeably tougher on P4 in Hell.
With 10-12K damage and then a 10% procc on the damage curse, it could be much better.

Unfortunately, you don’t have the runes to buy the charms and all that ridiculously expensive stuff… These things don’t drop every day.

Good luck.

Okay thank you so much. Unfortunately this is a poopy poor bowazon I doubt it will ever get so much gear it’s okay though she is still really good and shoots really fast

I’m pretty sure I don’t want Atma with guided/multishot that is more for strafe build right?

no,no,yes

the answer your looking for can be found on the google

The answer I’m looking for can be found above in detailed replies. I wouldn’t have posted here if it was as easy and simple as “just google”

I’ve always found this calculator useful to play around with for IAS breakpoints.
https://warren1001.github.io/IAS_Calculator/

Note Multishot uses the same frames as “normal attack”. It takes 147 IAS to hit 8 FPA attack with Hydrabow [10] base speed. So your 150 IAS hits the 8 FPA break point. 9 FPA comes at 89 IAS.

The calculator also lets you see what Fant or Burst of Speed does. My bowazon uses Hustle Hunter’s Bow in swap to proc BoS. I played around with Faith, WF, and Mist, I don’t play her a ton and honestly don’t remember where I ended up, but I think it was using Faith or WF and A1 merc using the other.
