Just wanted some thoughts & opinions - I want my main farm char for everything to be a Zon because Sorc are boring lol. Talking cows/chaos/arcane/Andy/meph/Baal etc all of it. Ignoring the argument that I should have different chars for different farming spots…
Let’s assume similar MF focused gear stacking about 300mf, and 50 ias on a WindForce bowazon or 50 FCR on a Javazon. Would you heavily favor one versus the other? Are they comparable enough that it’s more about which playstyle you’d enjoy? My Java build currently doesn’t have infinity (working towards that or faith soon) but my merc is beefed up enough to handle lightning immunes well, albeit a bit slowly sometimes. My thought was that the bowazon would be able to handle immunes much better with magic & physical damage when talking about cows/chaos/pit, and still able to mow bosses down.
Thanks for any input!
Sadly Java is better and cheaper on top of that. With 300MF on Bowa you also wont be farming much. There is excelent Bowa guide by TSBoyer few threads down which will give you pretty good insight.
I Play Frozen / Guided Arrow Build with Valkarie, There isnt much I cant kill with 88 lvl zon
I Run with 230 MF and very cheap gear
Tal’s Helm Topaz
Smoke or Duress Chest
+2 Gloves with some MF
41 War Trav
Duel Leech rings with MF
Any Rare ammy with MF
Gheeds in the Inv
Windforce
Goldwrap
A Couple 6-7 MF Charms
Takes me a while to Solo Chaos or Solo Cows, But like I said I can clear it all
The javazon is so much faster and more durable that there is no comparison. Just for starters, a Bowazon can easily go thru entire arrow / bolt quivers taking down a small pack of hell level mobs, while the lightning fury javazon might spend 1-5 jav throws depending on the mob. Lighting immunes take a bit longer but still go down to physical damage from lighting fury javelins. The larger the mob numbers, the higher lightning fury scales in sheer damage output.
Diablo, Baal, etc… go down in under 20 seconds to a Javazon charged strikes. I’ve never had similar kill speeds while playing a L90+ bowazon. And this is on a 350+ MF jav farming build.
My L92 javazon is currently using a Might Merc with Reaper’s Toll and Vampire Gaze. Andariel’s is available but makes him easy flame bait. I’m considering making a Crescent Moon polearm for breaking lighting immunes, but I don’t know if this will be more effective than Reaper’s Toll for breaking phys-immunes with the Decrepify curse proc.
Players 1:
Cows: Javazon by a small margin
Chaos: Bowazon
Players 8:
Cows: Javazon by a gazillion margin
Chaos: Javazon because taking down diablo on a bowazon on p8 takes like a year
Both are terrible expensive builds for max gear.
Javazon can get away with trash gear and can be “fine” for cows. Farming chaos on the other hand requires and infinity and many other areas as well.
Bowazon needs expensive gear to be somewhat worthwhile but can kill anywhere you want.
Cows and chaos my favorite, pits are just a push over at that point.
Biggest flaw of both is that using enigma is not great, but javazon has a big edge in using enigma as well.
Bowazon kinda needs fortitude to do dmg or bust :\

No it doesn’t. You can easily skip ghosts as they are slow and doesnt do much dmg to your life. You force your way through them, let your merc kill the Grand Vizier of Chaos, and proceed to the next seal. Once you open last seal every living mob dies anyway. I farm chaos without infinity and with Naj’s Puzzler easily. Couple minutes work.
those ghosts are the major source of high runes, skipping them doesnt make CS a good place to farm in my opinion.
Obviously you can go everywhere almost naked but not very efficient

Drop wise I agree, its better to kill them than skip.
I’ve never had problems with Ghosts in any mode with my Javazon.
A good off secondary weapon for a Javazon is the unique balrog spear Demon Arch – very high fire + lightning + physical damage with 30% IAS. It’s pretty effective vs those pesky lightning + poison immune Dark Souls that cover Worldstone Keep L2+ if you run ThunderGods or Wisp Projector. Like Titan’s Revenge, it is self-replenishing to minimize repair costs.
Bowazon is really good if you have fortitude and windforce, java is better when you get infinity. Before that multishot/magic arrow build is better.
javazon doesnt use fcr it uses ias, only thing fcr helps with is an enigma for teleport. 2/20 javs gloves and highlords make the breakpoint for t-strokes at 40 ias and with treachery you make it for titans also at 45 ias.
