Botting This Season

Blizzard still allowing this ? Not doing anything is allowing it

It costs them money to combat botting.

Legitimate players are the minority in this game. Even players that don’t cheat themselves but trade with cheaters are part of the problem.

This game doesn’t make them money, they aren’t going to bleed red ink to combat botting for the legitimate minority. This game is under the umbrella of a publicly traded company; Shareholders, CEOs and board members don’t like red ink. You think they’re going to sacrifice part of their bonuses to help combat cheating in a game they’ve never played and only know about from a quarterly report? NOPE.

Play solo self found, or play with a group of players that all commit to playing legitimately and only trade within that group.

fair to assume they gave up on this game.

just checked the notes for the new season when i saw it starts today…
“nothingness and despair” is all i found.

ya go for it, you probably won’t get banned til summer sale. take a night off or two the night before launch of summer sale and you’ll be fine :stuck_out_tongue:

It’d make them money if they only ran the banwaves like they used to, AFAIK they haven’t done it since season 2 or so. Wonder why they stopped if that’s the case, I don’t think it’s the case of botters circumventing the detection or anything like that, at least not all of them anyways.

It might, if they would stop dropping the price ~80% right after a banwave.

IMO they should jack the price up +1000% for a month after a banwave.

They do it so the botters buy more accounts and they rake in more profits.

This.

You’re also paying to make drops less exciting cause you paid for best in slot everything.

All I wanted was a bot ban wave on ladder reset. Oh well.

All I want is for them to turn on Skynet and let AI go to town banning the botters.

You want a good test bed for AI anti-cheat, Microsoft? I hereby vouch for Diablo 2 to be that test bed.

There’s already preliminary pricing of $260 for a Jah rune on some RMT website I don’t care to link.

$9999.99 for the majority of fully decked out builds… As soon as their bots fulfill the order.

in a ~25 years old game that’s seasonal and starting to feel like abandonware. that’s a level of crazy i would be ashamed of even if i was rich.

I know people that spent over 10 grand each on d2r, not including 20 years of classic. From buying stuff off item sites, aha thats the companys money and they dont even care. Because they dont play their own game or monitor it. Woopty do people use bots, i been playin with these people for over 20 years. Nothing will ever stop them. What makes you think blizzard cares all of a sudden. They dont even run warden anymore.

I experienced the rust storm over 15 years ago. The first day of the warden was launched. That day was so awesome. I also remember online moderators in the silver armor and blue cape. They use to join games not just sit in lobbys.

lmao, never heard a more stupid question xD

Good lord. I didn’t realize how bad the bots were on here again until last night and today. Mass amounts of items ft by the same people on JSP lol. Blizz really doesn’t care anymore huh?

Just because blizzard took a more active role in the past, doesn’t mean they cared even then. It was just a way to increase funding. They never really gave them a constant kill shot.

I’m beginning to think they just don’t want people playing this game and instead playing D4. Hoping that there’s crossover to boost D4 numbers if they make D2 as unpalatable as possible.

Well at least they cared about selling more copies and it helped us at the time. lolz
