without the botters, n map hack for the last 20 yrs. this game would be done botters bought new cd keys every time they got banned n paid for this remake, not the ppl playing it
Itās crazy how many people are playing the role of the victim with this ban waveā¦ Or in the OPās fine example, claiming cheats are the āsaviorā of the game. 
People took the risk running the maphack, they got caught. Boo hoo, life goes onā¦ Hopefully lesson learned, although I doubt it.
Hopefully next up is a massive ban wave for all of the botters.

What a bunch of nonsense. Cheaters pushed way too many people out of battle net in the first place. Many CD keys were stolen or even hacked so no, blizz wasnt really making great money out of it. Botters were.

The only thing that kept D2 alive, after botters and esp. trash scum sites like jsp (which started as duping/botting/maphack guide) e-pvp and others ruined the game, are the d2 mods āPath of Diabloā and āProject Diablo 2ā not botters smhā¦

Yep, before they switched over to the 26 alpha numeric keys, I lost one. Fortunately it was relatively cheap to replace it, as there were plenty of D2 Battlechests in bargain bins anywhere that sold computer games. I was able to use it several years later after they clamped down on VPN usage back in 2017 only to find out that it was permanently squelched, so Iām guessing a chat spammer was using it. So I just used it as a 2nd account to do private runs/safely mule with.

Kept d2 alive? Are you delusinal. Pd2 is only a year old, and PoD isnt really that old either. Small blips on the map of diablo. D2 was kept alive because the type of game it is. And that is it.

considering third parties would generate d2 game keys out of thin air and then sell them for a buck (or just out right hack accounts), none of that cash actually went to blizzard. so ya, i call baloney on that excuse.

Never bought a single thing on d2jsp.
All self found and trading. Zero sympathy for cheaters and the game will be better without them.
Plus blizzard makes more money and sells more copies cheaters need to rebuy
