Bots,bots,and more bots

why stop banwaves? any programmer working now?

shorter seasons, enigma, these are just 2 things that perpetuate the whole bot problem. And, yes, lack of in-game or in-chat monitoring also encourages this behaviour. Whatever happened to the blue caped guy that would pop into chat or rarely invade a game to see what was going on? Maybe have it player driven, sorta like your chat mods? They can take screen shots, record video, etc. and submit it to an actual blizz employee for action … just saying … this could be a good thing …

reminds me of the one lady in Guild Wars, she’d pop in once in a while and chat with players, or monitor reports of bots or cheating, whatever … she was an employee but had the power to “DUNN” you!

The reaper would appear, you’d be struck down in front of everyone, lol. Everybody knew you just got banned.

If you guys haven’t already realized, blizz is developing and running this game at minimal costs. You didn’t pay $60 and there ain’t any mtx, what do you expect? Bots are rampamt in every arpg & mmo, otherwise tell me one that has it all under control… from my experience blizz has done better than most companies with dealing with bots and hackers. Plenty of ban waves are incoming.

Yep…

The cost of Diablo 2 + LoD Expansion, or $100 in 2000/2001 = roughly $172 today.

$40 today = $23.25 in 2000 dollars.

Diablo II:Resurrected is a steal. When you consider development, support and infrastructure costs, they’re nearly giving the game away.

Oh you didnt hear, the big 2.5 project the developers have been working on is an approved bot mechanic.
Part of the, cant beat em, join em protocol.

If it is a loot filter, then brace yourself for a bunch of “sky is falling” threads.

A basic loot filter for potions, gold and other common/junk items simply to hide the labels would be fine IMO. I draw the line at full customization based on item specifics like socket count, ethereal, defense values, etc. Picking up an examining items is part of the experience, and it should remain so.
