NORMAL UNIQUE BOOTS

NORMAL UNIQUE BOOTS

Hotspur Boots

  • Treasure Class: 3
  • Required Monsters level: 7
  • Usage: Low level PvP, protection against fire
  • Value: Low-Medium
  • Note: Hotspur are very interesting boost, they have +15 Life, high fire resist +45% and also +15% maximum fire resist and they have some decent value as they actualy dont drop often. They can be used on high level characters after upgrade in cube to exceptional and elite version for higher defense. Their low level requirement also makes them suitable for low level pvp.

Gorefoot Heavy Boots

  • Treasure Class: 9
  • Required Monsters level: 12
  • Usage: Low level characters, Barbarian
  • Value: None
  • Note: Not that great boots, minor +20% FRW bonus and 2% mana leech. Gorefoot also increase level of Leap for barbarian so they can be somehow usefull for barb playthrough to help you jump over obstacles.

Treads of Cthon Chain Boots

  • Treasure Class: 12
  • Required Monsters level: 20
  • Usage: Low level characters
  • Value: None
  • Note: Decent +30% FRW and additional defense vs misiles. Other than thatnothing really impressive. There are definitely better boots.

Goblin Toe Light Plated Boots

  • Treasure Class: 21
  • Required Monsters level: 30
  • Usage: Melee/Range, Smiter, Uber tristram with melee characters
  • Value: Very Low-Low, they are mostly wanted very early on on season as people are trying to gear up their uber tristram smiters.
  • Note: No +FRW, but very high +25% crushing blow bonus. Thats makes them very usefull for any character attacking with weapons or shield as crushing blow is exceptionaly great against bosses.

Tearhaunch Greaves

  • Treasure Class: 27
  • Required Monsters level: 39
  • Usage: Paladin
  • Value: None
  • Note: They have some good stats: +10% all res, high defense,+5/Dex strength but mediocre +20% FRW. They have also unique +2 bonus to Vigor Aura but only for paladin. Tearhaunch have hard time to compete vs exceptional unique boots because it require level 29 and 70 Strength.

EXCEPTIONAL UNIQUE BOOTS

EXCEPTIONAL UNIQUE BOOTS

Infernostride Demonhide Boots

  • Treasure Class: 36
  • Required Monsters level: 37
  • Usage: Protection against Fire, GF
  • Value: Very low-Low, slightly more valuable on Hardcore
  • Note: Great boots with 30% fire resist, +10% max fire resist and high Gold find bonus 40-70%. They have only 20% FRW, but Infernostride were buffed in 2.4 as they also have 5% to cast Blaze when struck and it newely increase walk/run speed.

Waterwalk Sharkskin Boots

  • Treasure Class: 39
  • Required Monsters level: 40
  • Usage: Protection against Fire, casters
  • Value: Very Low-Medium, price depends on +Life and +%ED roll
  • Note: Good boots for most casters, they have +5% fire resist, 45-65 Life, increased defense against missiles and quite good +15 Dexterity bonus, but only +20% FRW.

Silkweave Mesh Boots

  • Treasure Class: 45
  • Required Monsters level: 44
  • Usage: Energy shield sorc, casters
  • Value: None-Very Low
  • Note: Silkweave can help with mana as they have +10% mana increase and +5 mana after kill, 30% FRW is also decent together with quite high defense vs missiles +200, but I personaly never really had great use for them. They could work for Energy shield sorc, but they lack some really good bonuses.

War Traveler Battle Boots

  • Treasure Class: 51
  • Required Monsters level: 50
  • Usage: MF, Melee/Range
  • Value: Medium-Very High, most valuable early in season and low MF rolls eventualy lose value over time. High MF rolls with 45%+ more can be easily sold for Vex or Ohm or even higher rune if they are very close or at 50%.
  • Note: Probably most wanted boots because they can have +30-50% MF. They also have +25% FRW, +10 Vitality/Strength an on top of that they add 15-25 damage.

Gore Rider War Boots

  • Treasure Class: 54
  • Required Monsters level: 55
  • Usage: Melee/Range, Kicksin, Barbarian
  • Value: Low-High, price depends on +Enhanced defense roll
  • Note: Very good boots for Melee/Range builds because of 15% deadly strike, 15% crushing blow and 10% open wounds chance. They have also decent +30% FRW. Lowered requirements by 25% makes them more usable as they require only 94 Strength. They are good choice for upgrade in Horadric cube to elite version for assassin focusing on kicks.

ELITE UNIQUE BOOTS

ELITE UNIQUE BOOTS

Sandstorm Trek Scarabshell Boots

  • Treasure Class: 66
  • Required Monsters level: 72
  • Usage: Casters
  • Value: Low-Medium for non Eth, High-Very high for Ethereal version, price is based on Str/dex/+%ED/Def and poison resist as last.
  • Note: +20% FRW, +20% FHR, +10-15 Strength and Vitality and very high poison resist +40-70%. Good but nothing epic, but they are very special because of self repair ability so their ethereal version is a lot better providing more defense.

Marrowwalk Boneweave Boots

  • Treasure Class: 72
  • Required Monsters level: 74
  • Usage: Necro summoner, Uber tristram, PK, source of Life tap
  • Value: Low, Medium for hardcore where more people play Summoner, price depends on Strength and Skeleton mastery skill rolls.
  • Note: Little bit high strength requirement 118 but actualy pretty usefull boots. 20% FRW, 10-20 Strength, +17 Dexterity +10% mana regen, half-freeze duration and two skills on charges Bone Prison and Life Tap. Bone prison has some use for player killers if you want to block your target from running away and Life tap is extremely usefull for any melee or range character doing physical damage. Marrowwalks have also unique bonus just for necromancers, +1-2 to Skeleton Mastery skill.

Shadowdancer Myrmidon Greaves

  • Treasure Class: 87
  • Required Monsters level: 79
  • Usage: Assassin
  • Value: Low-High, price depends on +1 or +2 shadow disciplines and dexterity roll.
  • Note: Very rare boots but with very limited use. They have +15-25 dexterity, +30% FHR and FRW, +1-2 to Shadow Disciplines and also lowered requirements, but you will still need 165 Strength to use them. They are best for assassin with kicks to reach highest damage with them, but I prefer Upgraded Goreriders instead as they are better in my opinion.

SET BOOTS

SET BOOTS

Tancred’s Hobnails Boots

  • Treasure Class: 3
  • Required Monsters level: 27
  • Usage: MF, low level characters
  • Value: None
  • Note: Tancred boots are weird, they are lowest boot type TC3 but they require monster level 27 to drop so you wont find them early. That means you wont find them often as lowest Treasure class items drops less as you progress in game. Tancred Hobnail’s have +10 Dexterity and get +30% FRW with another item from same set. Whole set is not really that great, but Amulet has very high +78% MF bonus with 2 parts from set so Boots with amulet can be used for that bonus.

Cow King’s Hooves Heavy Boots

  • Treasure Class: 9
  • Required Monsters level: 20
  • Usage: Low level PvP, PK, MF, low level characters
  • Value: Low-Meidum
  • Note: Cow King’s Boots have +20 dexterity, +25% MF, 30% FRW, 25-35 fire damage, improved defense by 25-35 and they require only level 13. Amazing stats for such low level boots, only disadvantage is that they can drop only in Secret Cow level. They dont have any green bonuses for more items from same set. Whole set is providing good gold bonuses and was improved in 2.4 patch, but you cant complete set below level 25.

Sander’s Riprap Heavy Boots

  • Treasure Class: 9
  • Required Monsters level: 20
  • Usage: Low level characters, Low level PvP
  • Value: None-Very Low
  • Note: Great boots you can use from level 20. They provide high +40% FRW bonus, 100 attack ratting, 5 Strength and 10 Dexterity. Dream stats for every lower level characters. They drop quite often and sometimes before you can even equip them. They dont have any green set bonuses.

Hsaru’s Iron Heel Chain Boots

  • Treasure Class: 12
  • Required Monsters level: 4
  • Usage: Low level characters, Melee/Range, increasing chance to hit monsters.
  • Value: None
  • Note: Not that great +20% FRW, usefull +25% fire resist for normal playthrough, and amazing +10 attack ratting per character level as green set bonus if you have another item from same set. They are great together with Belt but whole set has quite weak shield with terrible block chance. Whole set has cannot be frozen so its still good for melee characters.

Vidala’s Fetlock Light Plated Boots

  • Treasure Class: 21
  • Required Monsters level: 19
  • Usage: Amazon with Bows
  • Value: None
  • Note: Mediocre boots and kind of weird choice for set with bow because amazon usualy focus Dexterity and they need 50 strength being accessible from level 14. They have 150 stamina and 30% FRW, thats it. They will get gree bonus +8 all resist with another part, but thats not that amazing honestly. Whole set was improved in 2.4 and is having decent cold damage. Amulet from same set has 50% MF bonus with second part so it can be usefull together with boots.

Sigon’s Sabot Greaves

  • Treasure Class: 27
  • Required Monsters level: 9
  • Usage: Low level characters, Melee/Range, Low lvl PvP, MF
  • Value: Parts of set have no value usualy or just few Pgems, but whole set can be sometimes sold for Pul or even Um.
  • Note: 20% FRW and +40% Cold resist, another 50 attack ratting and 10% life leech with second part of set and +50% MF and 100 defense with third part. Whole set is pretty great for low levels characters but you will need to equip yourself with bunch of Strength charm to wear it early on as set can be equipped from level 6.

Rite of Passage Demonhide Boots

  • Treasure Class: 36
  • Required Monsters level: 39
  • Usage: Cant honestly think of any use
  • Value: None
  • Note: One of the worst boots in the game, I cant even remember using them ever. No attributes, no resist, just 30% FRW and Half freeze duration. They dont even have any green set bonus and gold bonus from partialy completed set with another part is just +150 defense.

Natalya’s Soul Mesh Boots

  • Treasure Class: 45
  • Required Monsters level: 22
  • Usage: Any character but it is part of assassin’s set
  • Value: Low, price depends on resist roll.
  • Note: Pretty good boots, +40%FRW, good defense, and +15-25% cold/Lightning resist. They are great for Hardcore because of speed and resistances, they can be also used from level 25. They also get amazing gold bonus from partialy completed set with second part adding 15 magic damage reduction.

Aldur’s Advance Battle Boots

  • Treasure Class: 51
  • Required Monsters level: 29
  • Usage: Druid, Casters
  • Value: Low, price depends on Fire resist roll.
  • Note: Very good boots with +40%FRW, +50 Life, 10% damage goes to mana and very high fire resist 40-50% and +15 dexterity for every other piece of same set equipped. They also get partial gold bonus for two Aldur items +150% attack ratting and +50% for 3 items. Whole set is designed for melee druid.

Immortal King’s Pillar War Boots

  • Treasure Class: 54
  • Required Monsters level: 37
  • Usage: Barbarian, Melee
  • Value: Very Low-Low
  • Note: Good boots but mostly for Barbarian. They have +40% FRW +44 Life and +110 attack ratting and 25% MF bonus from using second part of set. More set pieces add more green bonuses like +combat skills, defense and half freeze duration. Usualy it is best to use combo of Gloves, boots and belt for various bonuses if you dont want to use full IK set. IK boots need only level 31, but they require 125 strength which is a lot for that level.

MAGIC, RARE, CRAFTED BOOTS

MAGIC, RARE, CRAFTED BOOTS

Magic Boots
Magic boots can sometimes have some good mods. It is possible to gamble boots with +35% MF, which is almost same as low War travelers. People usualy will not buy them but you can get easily low budget MF boots after you buy few of them in gamble. I was for example able to gamble +33% MF, +38% fire resist boots at character level 27.

Rare Boots
Rare boots can have various good mods making together excelent boots. Desirable mods are: Dexterity, Resistances, 30%FRW, 20% FHR, %MF, and %GF. Its hard to describe price, but tri res boots with FHR and FRW can be very expensive with with high Lighting resist valued as best. And price can go up to High runes.

Crafted Boots
Boots are really not being crafted that often. Its possible to make blood recipe to get small life leech bonus on boots and decent replenish life but melee chars usualy want certain set or unique boots. Safety craft has way too low bonuses for a heavy boots, Hit power craft doesnt provide anything usefull and Caster craft simply doesnt provide enough to waste gems and runes on it. In theory only good caster boots roll could be somehow usefull for energy shield sorc because of small mana bonus.
