Bone armor bug?

Right, so I’ve got one hard point in Bone armor, wall and prison, with +skills, it’s 6 to each. Yet Bone armor only shows 125 absorb damage, what gives? The synergies alone should be 180 absorb dmg, based on the +15 per level.

Synergy only counts from stated points. That gives

So it’s literally useless to put points in Wall and Prison then? If +skills in them don’t affect Bone armor?

If you are not going to put more than 1 point into them then it’s pretty useless. Usually you put 1 point in armor and dump the rest in the synergy to have more reduction

If you don’t use those skills, you are better off putting the hard pts into bone armor. In all honesty there is probably no reason to put more than 1 pt into bone armor for a poison or summoning build. There are far better uses of your skill pts.

Nowadays, putting points in armor is the same as the synergies. +15 absorb dmg per point.

Might have missed that

I mean, my idea originally was to put 1 hard point in the synergies for Bone armor, and have them be 1 point wonders with +skills. But since that doesn’t seem to be the case, just gonna dump my extra points straight into armor.

Running a build with 20 points in RS, SM, AMP and CE. 1 point in the rest of the summoning skills.

+skill from gear/charms dont count toward synergy…only hard points into the synergies count

Learned something new then. :slightly_smiling_face:

Only “hard points” or “base points” count towards synergies.

Plus to skills is considered a “soft point” and have no impact on synergies.

The value of +skills and increased power would be insane for the spells with the most synergies.

I think the +skill point in synergies onky work for druid.

Currently theres 3 synergies that benefit from the soft point addition

One of them is Druid’s pet synergy(spirit wolf, dire wolf dire bear)

The other one is paladin’s prayer synergy towards cleansing and meditation aura

And the last synergy goes to act3 merc’s skill synergies.

k listen to me, im literally one of the best necros on the planet, and all of the above posts are not giving the best advice like i will.

So you put 1 point into bone armor no matter what if you are going to use bone armor on your build. The first point into bone armor gives you 20 absorb. All successive points thereafter will give you 15 absorb per point.

Now, the passives Wall and Prison will give you 15 absorb for 1 point each, therefor after the first point into bone armor, any point you put into each 3 skills will give you the same 15 absorb.

So what’s the catch you say?

Any points you put into BONE ARMOR, increase it’s mana cost.
1 point Bone Armor + 5 points Bone wall = 95 Absorb - 11 mana cost
6 points into bone armor + 0 points Bone wall = 95 Absorb - 16 mana cost

SO YOU NEVER WANT TO PUT MORE THAN 1 POINT INTO BONE ARMOR UNLESS YOU ARE MAXING ALL THREE SKILLS AND BONE ARMOR LAST.

But you ask, is it worth maxing all three skills for a mega Bone Armor? I dunno, i guess if you had 20 skillpoints to blow on bone armor with nowhere else to put them, but i dont ever see that being the case in any build tbqh. So since Wall and PRison are passive damage boosters to Bone spears/Spirit, it’s pretty common for a Bone Necro to pump thoses passives for extra damage, but Bone Armor is a passive for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

SO ONCE AGAIN, NEVER PUT MORE THAN 1 POINT INTO BONE ARMOR. Wall and Prison are pretty good to put points in for bone spear builds or even maybe some weird tanky build.

Now you have received a Bravata University Education. :woman_student:t6:

Nah, the confusion was mainly about using Wall and Prison both as 1 point boosts for armor, but that got cleared up.

Thank you for your words of wisdom. I am now qualified to reach level 99 in hardcore.

I will now use my Trump card, and make Walls great again!

There really never is a reason to put more than 1 pt into Bone Armor. Brav addressed the synergies doing the same as a hard pts, but there is always something better for you to do with your pts. Putting pts into armor is just saying I don’t know what to do with the pts next so into armor you go.

Summoners at mid range have over 150 armor with 1 pt invested and just + to skills. You are always better off adding to golem master, bone spear, Mages etc.

Bone Necy’s just do better with Wall and Prison.

Poison Necy’s have the most wiggle room with their points but you can still get better results putting the pts into golem mastery or Revives.
