We know why you cancelled Blizz, scared of the backlash over your messed up servers, wow is burning, Immortal memes and the lawsuits. You dont seem to do well these days.
Live Blizzcon was cancelled in 2020 because of COVID and they announced live Blizzcon 2021 would be cancelled back in May. There were no plans for a Live Blizzcon. What was cancelled was the Online one scheduled for early 2022 - next year. It is a little early to determine what people are going to be pissed about by Feb or March.
I hope you’re all staying safe and well. As guidelines in California around in-person gatherings continue to evolve and the status of the pandemic fluctuates around the globe, the teams across Blizzard have been discussing what this means for one of the events we miss the most: BlizzCon. We know some of you might be wondering about your own plans to potentially cross the country—not to mention oceans—and meet your friends, family, and fellow community members in California, so today, we wanted to give you a heads-up that we’ve decided we will not be holding BlizzCon this year.
Something else about Live Blizzcon, when it does happen, people don’t spend thousands of dollars on travel, rooms, transportation, and tickets to just harass Blizz staff and get tossed by Security. People who are pissed just don’t spend that kind of money. It is not an open event. It is a very heavily secured and ID checked event with lots and lots of security around.
These mvps are so embarrassing. Can’t see one topic about blizz without coming rushing to blindly defend. Blizz was cancelled because blizz know how they are seen and because the R*pe allegations are flowing. And D2R was the only thing that looked good and it turned out crap. Have to be a moron to think it was covid
Ah yes. They cancelled Blizzcon in 2020 not because things were shut down, but due to a lawsuit that had not happened?
Same with 2021? The decision was made in May. The lawsuits were July. D2R was released in Sept. So the made the call before the lawsuits and before the game release?
I realize the behavior of those people responsible is vile and they deserve not just being fired, but being held accountable in court.
That does not mean EVERYTHING is related to it. The OP of this thread even mixed up the cancellation of the ONLINE part with the LIVE part that was cancelled months ago.
It is just a bad trolling attempt. Par for the course.
And thats everyone. You forget they were booed out of blizzcon when announcing diablo immortal? Imagine an empty blizzcon. Honestly are you trying to convince yourself or everyone else? This ridiculous blizzsucking only gets more ridiculous as D2R gets worst. Will be fun when they release mass refunds and you are along doing free labour for a dead company. Even more fun when they rebrand and change their name.
Not exactly Cheetah, like they said…
Any BlizzCon event takes every single one of us to make happen, an entire-company effort, fueled by our desire to share what we create with the community we care about so much. At this time, we feel the energy it would take to put on a show like this is best directed towards supporting our teams and progressing development of our games and experiences.
For me this part: At this time, we feel the energy it would take to put on a show like this is best directed towards supporting our teams and progressing development of our games and experiences.
is very clear.
I was there. I booed when they said it was not going to be on any platform but phone. They did not get “booed out” though. There was an audible reaction from those of us upset, but the audience was overall respectful. Kudos to the guys who asked the questions of the devs that day.
How about a real reason they might cancel the Online Blizzcon next year? Nothing to show? Not enough progress on OW2? WoW expansion? D4? Not ready to release D:I? THOSE things are far more logical reasons to cancel.
You see green without reading a darn thing - you want to attack, to be a donkey’s behind. I get that. You don’t pay attention to YEARS of criticism that I have thrown at them. I just don’t scream and yell profanities everywhere.
Funny how being a decent adult works.
P.S. My posts on the D:I announcement and my criticism were some, if not THE, most upvoted posts on the older D3 forums.
Yeah, I don’t think they have anything worth showing for early 2022 that is worth the effort for the Online Blizzcon. It is mostly an advertising/promotion event and if you have nothing to really promote that is ready, it is stupid to do it.
But you know what exactly scary me? The last news about D2:R was about to launch then nothing more.
Dead serious question, is there anything to look forward to? All I know of is D4, any other titles?
Got it… especially when you’re in the middle of one of the biggest failures to launch an online game in video game history.
Yeah - about that. The Localizations teams and publishing teams handle that stuff and they don’t always push notices to the other language forums. Even when they do, they can be a bit wrong in translation at times.
Well, there’s a lot of people with a very decent english here (not me btw), will share it to guys send their curriculum, we never know when Blizzard is needing guys to translate texts!
I don’t know.
- Hearthstone is fun for some and continues along doing its thing.
- HotS is a niche game and the esports on it is dead right?
- Staracraft is still popular, but not what it once was
- WoW is currently not so well received and people dropped it en mass after the July lawsuits. Many of the issues on the Blizzard side that I am aware of were the WoW team. Not sure the next patch will help or not.
- A WoW expansion announcement would be due and I don’t know if Blizz has anything to talk about by Feb/March when Blizzconline would be.
- D3 just does seasons and is pretty static. People play each season then wander off which is fine.
- OW is pretty decent but I don’t know they have OW 2 ready to talk about.
- D4 looks fantastic but is a long way out.
- D:I is actually looking like a good game if they don’t screw it up, even if it is on Mobile. They pushed it to release next year sometime. Not something you want to hang your Blizzcon online hat on - esp with hwat happened in 2018.
- They have some un annouced projects. No idea what. But if they are not doing Blizzconline in spring 2022 then they are not ready to talk about.
- OH, and D2R. Yeah. The Global database issue resulting in servers down, queues, game creation timer, lost progress, etc. Not ok. Great game, poor release and support.
So yeah.
You guys just keep feeding troll
The new era of internet since 2015 onwards has produced more trolls than ever seen in human history so far
Those were not this month. They were in July after the news of the lawsuits dropped. Along with the protests they submitted a list of demands. Those demands have not been answered by Blizzard or ATVI.
Regardless, that is not a threat to the ONLINE portion that was just cancelled. Nor did those exist in May when they cancelled the Live portion.
Do you ever try to use the actual info?. It is just as useful and nobody has to correct you.
All I’m seeing here is old products with a new flavor. All those games have been out forever, WoW retail is rip, they’re doing fresh classic again soon.
Pretty much. There is no point in doing a PR event like Blizzcon if there is nothing big to talk about.
Lots of reason to hold back blizzcon this year …
Pandemic
Issue for travelling (see pandemic above)
Lawsuits
Employee’s morale being at an all time low
etc …
Id rather they skip than butch it … they;ll still anounce their project for the next year , just not at an actual blizzcon …
It’s very specific game, but it’s okay.
Dead, it can’t beat LoL and Dota.
It’s was a good game, now it’s outdated.
Oh gosh, another paid expansion? Come on! Well, the only good part in WoW today is the Classic and Burning Crusades, IMAO.
A fast option when you have nothing else to do.
Good game, but Activision/Blizzard definitely can’t compete with RIOT, you know? Valorant…
Yeah, long way… maybe 2023.
Ok, if they don’t launch a mobile game that can play without human, like Mu Online did, should be okay.
It really sad, a lot of good games are ruined and new ones are just a cheap copy of others or old ones. In this case, to the misfortune of old players, good games are in extinction.
