Blizzard, give up intellectual rights and usage of the D2R graphic engine. OR

Blizzard. Please do us all a favor and either reach out to the PD2 and Path of Diablo developer teams and bring them onboard to take over and oversee further development of D2R going forward.

OR

just release the intellectual rights and usage of the D2R graphic engine. So, that other mods that do provide updates to the game can take over and branch out from there.

Its obvious you had no intention of creating or adding any additional content than what we currently have, as there is no real way for you to monetize and profit off of this version of the game. Unless you make backdoor deals with 3rd party sites to take profits from RMT, or sanction it yourselves through your own site and take a fee for safe and supported transactions. Which we know you will not be doing.

So do us a favor and take off the leash.

Or what?

Play the game to see it.

First that entire paragraph was idiotic. They also could easily find ways to monetize this game, monthly subscription, forced required DLC to play. They’re simply not interested because the playerbase is too small and it isn’t worth it. And just because some modders can do some things you like to the game, doesn’t mean they’re obligated to allow them to do so.

please vampt, I need you to give up one of your rooms in your house. You have no intention of staying there 24/7.

Do you see how this is an idiotic statement. IP of d2r does not belong to blizzard. It is an asset of the shareholders. If any idiot executive says yes and hands over the IP, this dudes career is completely ruined.

A better idea would be to offer Blizzard money.

  1. So first, befriend an IP lawyer and a private equity professional.
  2. Convince them somehow that you can make d2r better and profitable.
  3. Start a kickstarter and raise around 5 million dollars.
  4. You three approach Blizzard and obtain the IP to d2r
  5. But by this stage, you will need a small company to manage this and now you have financial obligation to your newly highly workers.

Good luck with this bro!

*but with 5 mill, it might be better just to make a new game…like POE

I like to dabble in pd2 and pod as much as the next guy but come on they are hardly the epithome of perfect design. They are kind of like d2r. Some good changes and a lot of bad ones.

This is chump change folks. D2R fans need to accept reality, our game really means nothing. Can you blame them? What major gaming corp would be bothered by a game just a few hundred people care about…meanwhile WoW even after 20+ years makes more money in a month than d2/d2r ever made period.

Why don’t they make their own game instead of modding a 20 year old one if they’re so good?

That’s a good question.

Fan made mods should never be official they put there own spin and own bias into it the original devs are gone and are not coming back. Nobody should touch d2r leave it alone

How about neither for $500, Trebek?
Seriously, they don’t have to do either, and likely won’t. Its just not profitable for them.

It is supposed to be a full remake.

Somebody needs to fix the characters models. I have seen one mod that tries to fix the amazon but it is not near enough.
