Hey guys,
I want a tank, a real tank. Not a necro with summon who when he takes 2 hits dies.
My barb couldn’t take hit from mob before andariel.
My paladin tank a little but really not enough.
My sorc… Well, it’s a sorc.
My druid tank not bad while in werebear but that huge amount of damage while surrounded.
My assassin was not better than my sorc.
I want a tank where i can be in the middle of all the mob in front of baal and don’t die.
Is there even a class for that? I try an amazon and she have a lots of passive skills for tanking but i don’t know what it’s worth in hell.
Do you have any idea?
It’s not really a game tied to the “traditional” class roles… mostly depends on what character build you want to kill monsters the fastest with. I’d say paladin and barbarian are most tank classes, relying heavily on some kind of life leach for survival late game

I mostly play solo, but i hate spending more time managing my potion that actually play…
Do you think a full dodge spear amazon could tank?
I played D2 for 6 years, there isn’t a “tank” at the time nor did these functions exist.
But basically what you want is a character who can solo.
Everyone can do this, provided they are properly equipped.
In my experience a bone necromancer + sumoner is the best ever soloing baal hell , but it took a while to kill. The trap ninja is good too because she kills super fast

just put a “treachery” runeword armor on it makes you a hell of alot tankier im a frenzy barb main and it works wonders for me.

Any class can be a tank.
I always try to build my sorces so that they wont insta-die if i teleport into some crazy pack. and i can casually stand in average mob packs while i target down bosses. Of course it comes at the cost of damage.
Just stack the different layers of protection:
-High defence (and faster hit recovery)
-Max block chance. (with faster block rate)
-Increased max resistances, espescially for lightning.
-Physical damage reduction (stormshield)
-Energy shield if applicable
-Evasion if applicable
Note that maxing your physical resistances makes amplify damae even more dangerous as it will tripple the incoming phsyical damage rather than double it. (takes you from 50% to 150% instead of 100% to 200% damage taken). The game doesnt have enough sources to overmax it by 100, you cant absorb it like magic.
If you dont want to be surprised by conviction, either overmax your resists by 80 or so, or use elemental absorbs at least for the most dangerous damage types (wisp projector, dwarfstar, Tgods)
