What are the best classic builds and the best items you should look at?
Don’t be afraid to experiment with the game on your own. If you’ve never played classic mode, why not dive in blind and immerse yourself in the game? Looking up guides and playing the game based on others recommendations kind of spoils the experience. If you already have experience with LoD, you’re already a step ahead with the general game mechanics.
99% of the best items are rares. Though these are the notable set/uniques
For Barb:
Bonesnap
angelic rings, ammy, armor
goldskin
For sorc:
shard
For caster in general:
magefist
Best builds are WW barb, blizz sorc, and hammerdin. In general, your goal should be to have as much vitality as possible.

In the last 2 days I’ve been building a singleplayer mace whirlwind barb, and I’m blown away at how powerful it is. It hits everything all the time. I’m in act 1 nightmare playing on /p8. With 1 point on ww and a normal rare maul with 63 max damage, I’m crushing so fast. I should put up a video, you gotta see it to believe.
Yeah, WW doesn’t check ias in classic so you always have max speed.

He’s a fast killer and is super versatile with gear, wich is pretty awesome. If you play him properly he might clear faster than a hdin.
It would seem he wants some kind of post count for his multi before he employs it to randomly flame the people on the forums who he disagrees with. I’m sure that you can empathize with this.
Personally insttead of searching the easiest build, i try to search for more challange, I rolled: a smitter, a throwbarb, a physical bowazon, and a summonmancer. so far only summonmancer managed to finish hell on classic.
smitter is stuck due to lack of good eq barbed shields with 2x sox is hard to get, and i still need to grind nm cs a bit to get more skillpoints to tackle phys immunes.
throwbarb needs to pump some skillpoints into double swing before he’ll manage to tacke hell, and bowa still sits in early nm as she needs to be lvled up a bit b4 proceeding.
My hardcore ww barb cleared nm Chaos tonight, super easy on /p7.
I’m using Sig’s helm, boots, and belt, some res heavy rare gloves and ammy, a Nagel, and blue ring with cold res and 3 mana leech. My weapons are 2 mauls and 2 hammers, all with mana leech. I switch out the weapons as the durability empties.
Next D2 Classic reset I think I’m going to see how high up the ladder I can get.
