It’s wayyyy too small and looks like a toy.
Even worse in legacy graphics, seems like it shares the same model with hatchets.
Imho it needs to be 50% bigger.
I always hated the equipped graphics in legacy. Agreed it seems to share the equipped graphics with the base starter hand-axe.
Meanwhile I thought Small Crescent looked pretty cool.
I thought D2R made it look a lot better, but I haven’t really used one in a while so I don’t recall I guess.
Why would it be larger? It would ruin the aesthetic of the game, which takes inspiration from real life weapons/tools.
Have you ever used a berserker axe, or any one handed axe with northern blade geometry to chop some wood!? They are light, with blades under 1kg, usually 600-800g. Wouldn’t make any sense to be larger. It would be highly unpractical.

I mean it does look a little too large. They should lower it’s size a bit.
Ever been hit by a 2lb piece of sharped steel on the end of a lever? I assure you it’s not a toy.
People are used to garbage like this:
So what do you expect?
(I’m commenting on the laughable size of the sword - NOT on the game itself)
True enough. There is a reason one of my favorite “more” modern games is Kingdom Come Deliverance… and I’m super excited for the second one. I so much prefer the look of reality to the weird cheesy fantasy/larp/cosplay stuff so many games go for. I think it looks awful.
Weapons aren’t heavy/awkward. Armor isn’t designed to make you walk like a turtle lol.
It’s honestly hard for me to get into souls-likes and games games like monster hunter just because I find it so ugly.
I also find it very weird that in video games larger weapons are generally shown to “do more damage” When in reality it would function as more of a way to transfer force through armors, and at a certain point would simply reduce the amount of power you can generate. Taking armor out of the equation lethal is just lethal. The faster you can strike the faster you can win.
I’ve always thought that larger weapons in RPG type games would be better represented by having that “increased damage” come at a penalty of decreased accuracy. (And by larger here what I am really saying is more unbalanced/unwieldy/heavy) Longer but light weapons with good balance are actually fast as heck in the strike.
Wish games would just embrace more graceful designs.
Phase Blade looks like its from diff game, i take Berserker Axe
