Why the hell can’t I change the resolution from 4k to 2k or rather, why can’t I change the resolution to anything but my monitors default screen resolution.
Does anyone know how to change this in game? I have had this issue for a while now.
Did you make sure you’re in windowed mode and not full screen?
No this doesn’t matter, I am not getting into the discussion about windowed fullscreen/windowed/fullscreen. I am not talking about playing with a window or windowed fullscreen (windowed fullscreen isnt an option I can select in the menu anyways.) I just want to be able to have my desktop at 4k resolution, but my game at 2k/1440p.
I can’t change the in game resolution to my desired resolution.
Its always default to my desktop resolution.
I’m not too sure, I’ve never played this on windows, just steam deck.
So you want it full screen, but at half your screen resolution… why not use the resolution scaling bar?
just use screen scaling for god’s sake..
on my main rig i use VSR on a potato machine and FHD display, and get 3200x1800 in game.. the gpu would melt if i kept playing in that, si instead i decided to set the image saling to 60% as 3200x1800 x60% is exactly 1920x1080, voia problem solved
in your case however from 2160 into 1440 it will be a bit harder since 2160x? =1440 ?!
exactly two third 0,(6) so you will not get the exact 1440 as relable screen display you can get an approximate 2160x66%=1425,5 or 2160x67%=1447,2, there really doesn’t seem like a good way out of it.

Yeah, thats why I am having a problem. You see I can set my desktop display at 2k 120, or 4k 120.
But If i have one selected on the desktop, I can’t swap to the other in game. I am locked to my desktop resolution.
that’s why You should use the ingame scaling option i belive it’s called screen scaling or something like that it’s right under resolution as far as i remember.. set it to either 66% or 67% it’s the best you could do.. you will never have an iption to change resolution from 4k down to 2k on a 4k desktop res, it is because 4k and 2k are totally different aspect ratios, so it literally can’t work.. your best bet is ingame screen scaling, to save on GPU processing. this simply spreads pixels out from 4k to have pixel density of another resolution. setting this to either 66% or 67% will get you close to 2k resolution pixel density from 4k desktop res
does this allow you to see more stuff or is it purely to look nicer. i’m kind of curiious now. i just use the 1920 x 1080. i don’t even have options to turn it higher.
(Edit: No I am not trying to view more of the screen like the old ultrawide crap that now has black bars cuz it borked the game.)
Exactly You cant change the resolution.
Games used to let you choose the resolution and aspect ratio.

This is absolutely false, please stop telling people the wrong stuff.
1080p 1440p and 2160p are all 16:9 aspect ratio.
I shouldnt be locked to my desktop resolution while playing D2R.
I should have a function to change the resolution at my discretion.
From the 16:9 aspect ratios I listed or 4:3 resolutions like the old D2 used to run 640x480 or 800x600.
I haven’t said anything because I could just change my desktop resolution, and I had hoped it would get patched in, but here we are now with an expansion out and still no update.
I don’t think this was always the case either. Pretty sure we used to be able to change the resolution in game, but now its gone.
