first of all, i welcome the decision to keep classic (base game) as close to the original (besides big shared stash) as possible. I’m actively playing classic for about 2 decades now, and i feel this is what the overwhelming majority of the remaining playerbase wants.
Yet, everyone is aware that the base game isn’t perfect (no shared stash). That’s why i wanted to mention one point that is bugging me since i play. Maybe you take one moment to think about it.
Magic & Rare throwing weapons: So far the magic & rare versions of throwing weapons can’t drop at the base game, even though the affixes for them can be found in mpq files. Obviously the standard version of throwing weapons deals very low damage, making the 2 throwing skills for barb completely useless and also limiting Javazons power very hard. That’s one of the reasons why Amazon is the most underwhelming character at classic, not being able to keep up at pvp&pvm.
It seems that the original developers adressed that problem at LoD, implementing magic, rare and unique versions, but for some reason didn’t do it at base game version. I can’t tell if they restricted it on purpose or if it’s a bug.
Think about this if you implement future balance changes. Base Game players still want their game to improve in an intelligent way, so i decided to repost this topic in new forums.
