Barbarian skill trees are technically the most inconsistent

he is the only class that, while they all have 30 skills each, does not have them lined up by 5 on each skill unlock

across all trees, his first rows are 6 skills, then 7 skills, then 4 for the next three rows, and then finally 5 on level 30 skills

for everyone else its
level 1: 5 choices
level 6: 5 choices
level 12: 5 choices
level 18: 5 choices
level 24: 5 choices
level 30: 5 choices

so if you ever feel like you are not having that many choices between level 12 and 24 on barbarian, its because its true. it all went into weapon mastery choices in the beginning

you could, in theory, max all his 6 weapon masteries on your hardcore playthrough (and nothing else) to truly be a weapon master who can wield whatever new best thing drops for max loot efficiency. the game could, in theory, also just have put all the melee masteries into one skill, let throwing mastery be another, and made room for 4 new skills  actually making him a weapon master and not just a specialist like everyone else

What they could do is add a synergy with all weapon masteries that doesn’t require hardpoints to get the benefits. That would allow mastery skillers to be even more useful.

For example say you have 20 in sword (blade) mastery, but 1 in axe. Axe would have a synergy with Blade that gave it 10 flat damage per point, throwing would give X AR per point, maces add 1% crushing blow, spears deadly strike, etc etc

Can either of you do this with a barbarian?

No because ik barbs are trash in d2r

It’s not an IK barb, Noob, and this is the D2 LoD forum, not the D2R forum.

Ah couldnt tell because the game looks like chiit.

  • clearly no aura :white_check_mark:
  • clearly armour is not black :white_check_mark:
  • clearly no avenger guard :white_check_mark:
  • clearly using Enigma :white_check_mark:

Couldn’t tell, game looks like chiit

See an eye doctor.

I did. Got prescribed glasses and said to stop looking at chiit.

Tell the doctor you need a new prescription that synergizes your current glasses with another pair, due to you not being able to observe basic imagery.

Lol im just playing around dude. I legit thought it was ik because of you using a hammer which nobody uses nowadays.

Ebotdtm i reckon?

Technically with hustle in d2r thunder mauls got a buff and you can reach 5 fpa with ww now.

This isn’t the D2R forum, this is the D2 LoD forum.

Offline player HC is not HC, sry. Also maps already rolled.

This isn’t the D2R forum. And hc characters are hc characters, regardless of where they are played.

I know, this is not the D2R forum and no; it is not real HC. Because you simply edit the game file and your char is back alive again.

Maybe you do that, but I don’t - I don’t even know how to edit files.

However, the original point is noobs want to change the game to make it easier when they can’t even do what I’m doing in my vid. I bet they can’t even whirlwind properly.

wtf is goin on here

to go back to the topic and after some thinking, on one hand i dont want barb to get any aoe skills like its done in other games, keeping him a 1on1 guy. but surely something more could have been done, with any of the skill trees. feels like it was the last class they made for classic and just winged it

synergizing all masteries would encourage to make a weapon master, i agree with that. going full mastery then would be just as good as having combat skills, regular attacks would be powerful and let you have fun with almost any weapons available. but i dont think it would help with the bland feeling of skill choices. passive skills dont really feel like skills in that way, it doesnt really make your character stand out from those of similar class. it would even less if it was encouraged for all barbarians to wield several weapons

also i agree that hardcore on singleplayer is still hardcore, if not more. no one is there to carry you and no one is there to trade with. you get what you get. when i played hardcore with a friend online he would just get his class set through trading before we even reached hell. if loot and progression isnt part of the challenge, its not a challenge

if its on your conscience that you revive your character after they die, thats a you problem. either way its not something you can get away with on a live recording, which it would be if it was an official challenge. i would say another unwritten rule is to not tamper with players count unless you are told to, at least until you completed the game and only on hell, as that can be exploited early on (obv cant judge on the clip sent)

so there are a lot of ways to tamper with singleplayer; but if its your intention to play a challenge, play the game as intended, and be humble about it, not just to brag, then that should not even cross your mind. if you play it as intended, singleplayer is the true hardcore. most players who have tried a lot of cheating and messing around knows it also spoils the fun and takes away a lot of what made the game interesting in the first place, ie. progression and loot. i had a lot of fun cheating as a teenager, made impossible characters, destroyed things in one hit, had a blast. but now that i have tried that, i dont want to return to it. the fun of cheating is far from endless, playing fair and humble and achieving things is
