Barb Whirlwind and ALT Targeting in 2.4 - Unaddressed?

It looks like a lot of things have been addressed/buffed/considered in 2.4, however whirlwind is still buggy as ever, including alt ww targeting.

I hope it was secretly addressed, because ww-locking a target is very annoying.

Yep I was disappointed they removed the negative damage scaling for Strafe but ignore WW completely. I can live with the bugs but they should remove the -damage from WW too.

well the patch notes are not set in stone, so we will see if they address the other things that seem to have been missed. such as adding teleport as a set bonus to either deaths set or sigons set

I’d rather ww be nerfed 25% damage than to live with the bugs. You can’t whirlwind tight in a triangle, nor namelock stomp a target without accidentally clicking them (normal attack) or wwlock them. There’s no control over barbarian gameplay at the moment unfortunately.

Great post, really hoping this makes it into Patch 2.4/the PTR. It’s probably the biggest outstanding game feature at this point which keeps this game from living up to the legacy of old diablo

My favorite WW experience is when your barb locks on to some imaginary thing that is around around a corner and just starts whirling away.

Second favorite is when I want to Whirlwind back and forth over the same group of monsters, my barb will occasionally just keep heading in one direction, leaving my expensive merc to die… lol

Still love my Barb though, just wish he’d lay off the paint chips and act right lol.

They have said that they are not touching WW at all in 2.4 because any changes will change the skill completely, they need more time to figure out how to do changes without turning WW into a completely different skill

Taking away the -damage does not change the mechanics of the skill at all. Just brings the damage back to a reasonable level.

Not trying to hijack this thread, but ww damage is already subpar. It could actually use a little boost for the “non-singer” barb players.

We just need them to give us alt ww back as a minimum… :frowning:
