The final list of changes has only the attack rating buffs but none of the base level damage buffs that were in the initial changes/preview blog. I can’t play right now to confirm if the changes are in game and the notes are in error but was wondering if anyone ender noticed this or heard anything about it being removed or if I’m just not remembering well.
Seems like a stealth nerf to an already underwhelming Barb buff.
I’m not sure why it is, but last night my mana consumption was insane for my WW barb. it was basically unplayable compared to prior to 2.4. Was having to spam mana to keep going. it was like my %mana per hit wasn’t working anymore
If you’re having the same issue then it might hurt mana more because you are still using the skill but missing so you don’t leach anything back.
The bug fixes section of the patch notes suggests some changes with how WW interacts with monsters so it’s possible they broke something with the hit checks.
What weapon(s) are you using for WW?
I didn’t notice any issues either way with my IK WW barb but I only did 1 run last night to see if the damage buffs would be noticeable, but now it looks like we may not have even gotten them afterall. He only has the 10% from IK set bonus for ML but that’s still a decent amount typically.
Did you upgrade recently? Base speed for Quarterstaff is 0 and upgraded to Stalagmite is 10.
2h WW BPs are 15, 0, - 10, -30etc
So un-up’d you get 2 BP and up’d you only get 1.
If you have it socketed with a shael the Quarterstaff version would be -20 ,so hit one extra and the upgraded version would be -10 which also hits the 3rd, so in you have a shael in it upgrading shouldn’t effect hits with WW, but if you don’t, it would result in fewer hits.
Regarding original thread, I think my head must have made up the damage from masteries increase, since everywhere I look now, even the original older un-updated links, show only AR increase. I also confirmed that lvl 1 mastery damage of 28% matches the unchanged Arreat Summit number.
For some reason I thought we were getting a base damage bump (but same bonus per level) to damage and the AR improvements. As a Barb main that was one of the main things keeping me interested in 2.4, although I think throw barb will be fun to mess around with.
Upped ribcracker has base speed [10] though since Stalagmite has base speed [10] unlike Quarterstaff which is base speed [0].
So Sheal gets you 10-20 = [-10]
2H WW BPs are 15, 0, -10, -30, and -60.
So Sheal Up’d Ribcracker would hit 3rd 2H WW BP, but last WW BP is -60.
Typo/brain fart on your end saying “last” or am I missing something silly in my calculations above?
Let me know if you want a rush for a mule or alternate through Act 5 Quest 1 to get another socket quest to get a Sheal in that bad boy! Feel free to add me in game to play w/ in general also! Insidious#1502
50ias on Ribcracker itself, with shael inside 70ias which is exactly -60 for two handed weapons. Last BP for any weapon is 4fpa. You reach 4fpa with this constellation. With two weapons, you still have hit checks at 4fpa, 8fpa first then it alternates to 2fpa hit check for each weapon if an enemy is in vicinity. The brainfart is definitively on your side.
Try to save up for a grief PB. Cheap solution would be an eth oath balrogblade but I’d skip directly to grief.
Upped Ribcracker without shael hits 6fpa, with it 4fpa = 50% more damage. It’s well worth it.
If you played in duels at all (possibly specifically against amazon) when I used WW, the hit markers that show an X when you miss, show like 7-8X misses in a row, repeatedly fast misses. I don’t think dodge should avoid multiple hits like that.
Combine it with most likely max block and it was abysmal. Smite seemed to have no issue destroying them (go figure it doesnt miss).
Miss marker is also good on my end, it means hit checks are made so WW works as intended. d/a/e are OP skills with no recovery animation, broken beyond anything. They can hit you while you WW them.
