I just read the notes, are they really talking about balance like nerfing / buffing items, monsters, classes???

This would be huge, potentially very bad but, even as an old timer, Iâm excited.

excited but also worried. i hope they put some thought in it. a merc rebalance would be well appreciated (a3 is just useless). a bow runeword/unique in between harmony and faith would be nice. another super duper faith not. melee runewords could need a bit of rebalancing too though i admit that wold be a tough one due to melees being in disadvantage in the first place).
Balance changesâŚâŚâŚ. Buffs only plsâŚâŚ nerfing things will only punish players while buffing things will give us more to strive for imo
Agree on buffs only for balance patches when referencing PvM as I donât want to punish anyoneâs favorite build in a game where th competitiveness is questionable.
Now, I actually do expect that they will nerf and buff

no one said there will be balance changes they just gave the generic description of what PTR is for.
I will be delighted if some items can be brought up to speed. More item/build diversity would be great.
They wouldnât have mentioned balance changes if they didnât intend to do them. It is going to happen. While I want some, I just hope it isnât the route of constant balance changes to the main game. Get the balance in a good place for the main game, then the meta shift stuff can happen in seasons.
I played pretty much every Blizzard game and thats just the basic PTR description. But I hope they indeed balance the game.
Immunities on mobs need to be strengthened.
Inventory (both personal stash and character inventory) needs a heavy nerf.
Mercenary pathfinding and A.I. also needs a nerf (its just too good in its current state).
Hammerdin needs huge buff.

I just donât want fundamental changes that screw with game integrity. Quickcast comes real close to crossing that line or perhaps going over it. But⌠they added controller support to begin with so whatever.
Balancing has been a part of online gaming for a very long time so I see no reason why d2r should be the outlier.
This is important for everyone to digest. Just because D2 classicâs last version/patch was June of 2016 doesnât mean it was left in a âperfect stateâ.
These changes are signs (good in my opinion) that Blizzard is on board with this title for the long haul.
Just as og D2 had quite a few patches from 2000-2016, D2R will have patches through the coming years as well.
They donât need to ânerfâ any weapons or items. They need to buff other items.
They need to make it viable for all builds to complete the game solo, all quests, without having to rely on high end runewords to clear places like Frozen river where everything is cold immune.
Buff melee classes to actually do something productive besides ubers, and PvP. Buff their skill trees for crying out loud, especially the Barb and Sin. as it stands right now, if you arenât running a Hdin or dual spec sorc, every other build in the game for PVM is absolutely horrid.
Maybe those people who stubbornly claimed that Blizzard would make no changes can crawl back into their holes now.
no one makes this claims for D2R. D2R got changes form the start. so no one who is playing would have said, that blizzard would make no changes. so you can crawl back to you fantasy land.
I can easily refer to posts that said exactly that, but I wonât. In fact, I was in a conversation yesterday regarding it, and it has been said countless times since the forum came up.
