In the old Diablo II the colors were very good, expressive, in D2R it is a failure.

Uniques text color is way too similar to rare text color which completely removes the excitement of seeing them on the ground. I don’t really care about Runes text color since they have a unique string for each of them but rares and uniques are only showing the Base Item name when unidentified. This was not an issue in Legacy but it’s clearly an issue in D2R. There’s no video options to fix this either other than colorblind which affect all the color in the game, not just the text color. Make the Unique Text color more like the compare text color we see in the inventory which is way better.

I can see where this can be bothersome for some players, my thoughts are, even though you may not be color blind, have you tried the Color Blind option to see if the colors differ? Perhaps a change of color aspect could assist you better.
I usually click on Rare’s (Yellow) and Unique (Gold) majority of the time anyway, plus with extensive experience, you’ll be able to pick out the Unique items over Rare items when they are mixed in. But, I’m sure you can tell, everyone is in a clicking frenzy just trying to loot anything that drops, especially from bosses. The processing of your eye to brain to determine/process color are nano seconds, but for those that need longer processing time, I can see where this may be bothersome especially the color aspect.
Suggestively, I would suggest Unique color changed to Purple. This way, every loot rareity has their own unique color apart from other base loot vice Rare and Unique items are relatively close in color. Although, the Uber Keys, Runes and Crafter Amulets / Rings are Orange, they are visually easier to determine and should be looted immediately.

This is a huge problem with my vision, I have to loot ALL rares and uniques because the color looks the same to me on the ground until I identify them in my bag.
When I used to play classic they were MUCH more distinct in color.
I’ve tried changing settings in-game,monitor,graphic card and nothing seems to change it.
im having the same problem. Loot visibility for what are the best items in the game are atrocious
