Back to thank Blizzard for the awesome new changes and to celebrate our victory

Thank you!
Thank you for letting everyone know that us, the “casuals” are the most important customers, and for listening to us!

The terrorized zones are amazing, the charms are good but I would rather if you just straight up remove immunities and cap them to 95%.

Next, hopefully, we get Teleport charm that is dropped very frequently. Along with that, Teleport for everyone including Shapeshifters. Among those other popular changes we asked for:

  • More character slots, and stash storage please.
  • Charm inventory.
  • Players 8 online for people who prefer to play solo.
  • Personal loot to incentive party play, especially public games.
  • Stacking of Runes/ TPs and IDs (up to 999) / Potions, etc.
  • Shared stash for Classic, also, same storage size as expansion and switch weapon.
  • PvP toggle when creating a game, to stop griefers.
  • In game trade currency, similar to FGs, with in-game marketplace (a sell inventory and viewing the market would suffice).

But all in all really, a big thank you! Know that the majority are supporting you and are very grateful, more changes please!

See you in past (Diablo I/ Diablo II), present (Diablo III), and future (Diablo IV) Sanctuary!

Yeah I´d just remove immunities and transform them into a “very heavy resistance” as well, like 80-90%. And even so it wouldn´t render those “charms” obsolete, they still could be useful.

Also agree with rest of suggestions.

I get many people are purist and want the game to stay as D2 Classic, but for that you have… D2 Classic.

That doesn´t mean I or “we the casuals” (im not casual, but if purist say so, then let´s say so) want the core game be substancially changed. I think the most of us want to keep the same Diablo 2 Classic “gameplay” and overall mechanics (else we wouldn´t be playing D2R, but D3 or anything else) but those small changes seems outright upgrades wich doesn´t affect the gameplay.

I guess the most controversial could be PLoot, that has been discussed since before release. Sure, it would change the economy and probably lower some prices, but even son, the drop rate of the biggest stuff (like rare runes) is so low that PLoot “boost” wouldn´t be so impactful.

I’d probably put myself in an “middle zone” between casual and hardcore. Here are my thoughts on your stuff

  • Character Slots - I think everyone agrees
  • Charm Inventory - HEAVILY disagree as I like the charm trade-off personally
  • Players8 - I think the middle-ground is ./players8 online for NL but ladder remains as-is because that is where the greatest focus is
  • No opinion on personal loot
  • Stacking - TPs and ID can go to 20 (books) so that is fine. Runes - sure. Potions… why?
  • Classic Shared - I think most agree here
  • PvP toggle - no opinion
  • IN-game - Nope, economy will economy. We have basic trade values set-up

No teleport charm. I prefer the idea of increasing Teleport mana cost to get the spam out so Enigma isn’t well… Enigma

Agreed with everything you said OP.

Loving the changes, but wish immunities would dissipate for good. I also played D2 back when it was new, pre LoD expansion as well.

I think most people like these changes. It’s the vocal minority here on the boards mainly that don’t want the game to evolve.

Extremely bad idea. All games will be totally empty just because some casuals want to have higher drop rates and get items with no efforts.

Although higher drop rates would be cool, I think they should just be mainly for “essential” items. +1 to Teleport for example as a very, very common charm for all characters (including Shapeshifters)!

In other words, “efficient” high-end gameplay should not be gate-kept by either being a no life, or getting them through shady means such as third party trading platform. By the time you get an enigma, what would you even need farming for?!

I really hope it will never happen.

Well, I think majority would be in favor for it. I think there is a very high chance it is happening in the future!

Agree with some of this, disagree with some. Can’t tell if you’re trolling. I.e you’re a good troll!

Obviously teleport charm is a troll but you put in some very nice and expected QoL bullets in there.

It really is not, the rationale behind it is why lock the most “efficient” playstyle for this very end-game gear, that you have to no-life to get or get it through shady practices such as trading platforms?

And when you finally get the Enigma (which is a great item anyways, +1 to Teleport just make it greater), at that point what would you even be farming for? Probably you would be exping but imagine how long it would take a legit player to get to that.

Farming should be for better gears, to make your character stronger or to build new characters. But it should not be for “pseudo-essential” gear.

I got my hardcore enigma this ladder after about a month of play and trading via discord.

Also got enigma in non ladder before season 1.

Agreed it does make the game a bit less desirable to play when you max out a character, but that’s to be expected. Same thing happened in WoW Classic, every patch once you get BIS gear, you tend to get bored and move one until something new comes.

It’s still a kind of long playtime and like you said, once you do get it, it does make the game less desirable. Not to mention you only had it for one character I assume.

It adds a lot of variety too. No longer need to start the season with a Sorceress. Can just go Bear Druid and allow Teleport in that!

Because honestly a game like this is hard to balance and it should be more fun/ variety than balance (in my personal opinion) but even then this won’t break the balance - the Sorceress already has high damage output along with that Teleport.

And again Enigma will still be a great item, and there will be lots of [other] great items for you to farm.

enjoy your win and soon to be very dead game. the casuals who want these changes will all play for 2 weeks and move on. while the rest of us WHO KEPT THIS GAME ALIVE, AND WHY THIS REMAKE WAS EVEN MADE, will have to do something else. just great.

lol

you guys have literally said this for over a year now and look at that in the words of morpheus in the matrix

“WE REMEMBER THAT WHICH MATTERS MOST… WE ARE STILL HERE!!!”
sorry but take the L and slink away we aren’t going anywhere no matter how much you try and wish it wasn’t so.

guess it’s time for you to group up and make your own game. this one is now ours

Dead game because ~50 people will quit? I don’t mind if casuals play short period although you are wrong, it will more likely be 2 months every new season.

The remake was made because D2 sold decently, not because you “kept it alive”. It was not alive by any means lol. That sense of entitlement and delusions of grandeur are funny. Guess who were the majority who bought even the original Diablo II? Yeah… Casuals who did not stick around for 20+ years.

In fact clearly you are within the very, very majority. Probably the 5%. That’s why Blizzard is catering to 95% who actually do keep it alive and generate revenue for them.

  • More character slots, and stash storage please. - Yes
  • Charm inventory. - I would say limit of 1 of each size charm. A place for your anni, your torch, and gheed/ skiller. Less of an inventory, and more like charm slots.
  • Players 8 online for people who prefer to play solo. - No
  • Personal loot to incentive party play, especially public games. - No. Split mf is fine.
  • Stacking of Runes/ TPs and IDs (up to 999) / Potions, etc.- Sounds good in theory, but no. Could screw with values of selling crafting supplies like pgem and crafter jewels. Those values were established based on inventory size.
  • Shared stash for Classic, also, same storage size as expansion and switch weapon.-Yes
  • PvP toggle when creating a game, to stop griefers. - Yes AND Game creator should be able to kick. 15 second timer just so they can’t kick to stop a drop pick up or something.
  • In game trade currency, similar to FGs, with in-game marketplace (a sell inventory and viewing the market would suffice). - Maybe. Don’t think it’s neccesary.
*Teleport charm - No. This game rewards those that put in the time. A big thing that ruined D3 was loot was just handed to you. I went for Infinity before enigma, teleport is not essential.
*remove immunities-No. Get infinity, or do a different build. Want to play the build you like that has to deal with immunes? Then see -Get Infinity.
“Thank you for letting everyone know that us, the “casuals” are the most important customers” -No. Everyone is created Equal.
