AVX Issues / Game Launches, then Crashes on Older Processors (CPU)

Toujours pas réparé ,mais c’est une blague mdr

if you played on your profile and depends how much time you played, but try

This could definitely be the case unfortunately.

Hes literally drinking champagne in a D2R glass…Sometimes reality is stranger than fiction

Ya I did the same. Figured I guess its about that time of the decade to upgrade my PC. Its absurd that its necessary D fing 2 of all games though.

bye bye I will not waste more time, refunded

Where’s the Blue post that says nothing and does nothing with a link to the refund page with 100+ clicks for today? Drakky boi rather quiet. Telling.

Whats sad is i have many other games that is far more demanding on my pc then what d2r will ever need and they play fine on high settings, and saying my pc is below their system requirements is a joke…

Fletcher might post some gym selfies to keep you entertained in the meantime.

I have the same issue. Worked perfectly during the Beta, now I can’t start the game.
I’ve read somewhere that this issue could be solved by clearing the registry. Seems like it’s only happening to people who played in the beta.
Does anyone know more about this?

I can confirm, not just beta players

Bluepost: “While CPUs without AVX are below our minimum spec, we want to try to ensure as many people as possible can play.”

Not true. Older i7 processors without AVX are not below minimum spec. Some of those older processors have way more processing power than the i3-3250 in the game’s minimum requirements. CPU and MEM minimum requirements are always about having enough processing power to run the game. The release year of a component does not matter as long as the system performance can hit the required hardware performance thresholds.

Wow, I can’t believe this SCAM company is doing this to us.

Unfortunately, this is so true. For me this communicational debacle happened as followed:

1. Investigating the bug: Come on - they were aware they used AVX - some smart people in the community identified it immediately.

2. “We are working on solving the problem”: Assuming they knew that they used AVX, they knew it is a lot of work to solve this. It is more likely they were somehow forced to use it to still release the game on Sep. 23. But the “working on a solution”- statement is buying time to see how many people are affected - they even asked for it. If there isn’t a critical mass effected, is it necessary to fix?

3. We have the solution, but we need the weekend to test it.: Sure, you need the weekend - you may need much more time. None the less there is a lot of work to do with a game in beta-stage at this moment. To bring a fix – or workaround – for the AVX problem may not really be a focus. But it might not be a good idea to speak this out loud. Better let them know: of course, everyone having the AVX problem can ask for refund.

4. Its Monday – we need more time to test.: (To test sounds better than to say we need more time to code the workaround) Not to forget all the work that must be done to make the game work probably. Personally, I doubt that they have much spare resources to put into the AVX problem at this point. But don’t forget to let all of us know: You can still refund! Gosh, Blizzard is so noble!

Dear Blizzard-Employees,

it is not the fact, that you have used AVX to make the game work that makes all of us so frustrated and angry. It is the fact, that you are lying and hold out on us. I daresay most of us are people between their 30s and 50s who have played D2 back in the days. We do not often play modern games or need high-end PCs. Some may have families or other liabilities in this part of their lives. I did read that some took their holidays to be part of this event. The point is, we do not have to put up with lying at us or to hold out on us. I mean if you have told us one week before lunch that you are sorry, but now we need a CPU with AVX support, we might have simply bought one. One week after lunch is too late. The whole feeling is gone – for several reasons.
We remember times when Blizzard would rather skip a release then to present an unfinished game. Even if Blizzard would miss the Christmas sell and release on the first of January. Your communication on this feels poor. I do not mean your well trained and skilled communication managers – I am talking about the things you do communicate with your community.
It is up to you for what company you want to work. Not to forget: You are the company.

Cheers

it in addition is an investment to the next 10 years of gaming as this setup could carry me as long as my old one did.

could be true, as long as it is not a blizzard title :joy:

inb4, diablo 4 requirements are listed the typical on website and store, while in reality it requires a 24 physical cores cpu, 1200w powered with quantum computing capabilities!

there goes your mobo, ram, and potentially your case! doesnt fit a FA-ATX… you dont even get to use your cooler too…wrong socket :man_shrugging:

jokes aside… this is a master plan btw =)

NVSDK_NGX_D3D12_Init failed

Nvidia NGX utilizes TensorFlow for machine learning functions.

TensorFlow releases are (now), by default, built to utilize AVX. However, is very much possible to build from source and omit AVX. AVX is default for TensorFlow releases because it has better performance than the other build options.

NGX probably is using a release of TensorFlow built for AVX CPUs.
Blizzard could build the same version of TensorFlow and specify ‘no AVX’ options, but then have to ensure NGX uses that version (if embedded in driver, maybe not even possible )

It’s wild. Super troll, or completely out of touch with the diablo fan base. This guy blames us for their mistake. “Your pc sucks, but we’ll try to be nice and fix it.” sips champagne Unreal.

To all you folks buying new machines. You are horrible addicts that cannot righteously punish a sick company. There is NO reason whatsoever for this sort of nonsense. Screw blizz, and screw the guy taking selfies of his ugly abs that in 10 years will look like cheerios. I am done with this crap. You do realize your falling for the biggest scam ever? This was intentional. They are being PAID to push AVX and SSE4.1 Dont be stupid, and support such crimes.

Might as well before every game next year requires AVX last minute

If you cannot solve it, say so, and proceed to return the money, I have resigned myself to the fact that I will not be able to play and I better invest my money in another game, but they do not even want to return my money to me. My ticket is still on hold and nothing.
