AVX Issues / Game Launches, then Crashes on Older Processors (CPU)

Same here, still waiting for blue to at least drop some information about a realistic timeline for a fix. Beta worked fine for me, it’s a shame.

Should getting update on avx soon it seems, fingers crossed. Hope it will be good news.

There’s already answers in the thread explaining what happened(press the little blue Blizz buttons on the right to see the blue posts). It was a change after the beta. They know what the cause is, they tried to fix it on Thursday but the fix didn’t work, they made another one on Friday but pushed it to QA over the weekend. There’s apparently a patch coming “this afternoon” but we don’t know if it’s actually fixing our problem or not yet.

Same probleme here, still w8ting for blizz to do. Something :pensive:

There was no word of a patch this afternoon. If so please link.

They promised an update this afternoon, not necessarily a patch

Yes there was, a dev tweeted about it and it’s been reposted like 5 times already

Hmm, nevermind, maybe it’s because english isn’t my first language but it seems i interpreted it differently than other people here :upside_down_face:

You’re misinterpreting update for a patch. They could provide an update this afternoon and say no further progress. It’s important not to get your hopes up. They never said patch unfortunately.

I got game started from game files folder

Exactly, an update could be a forum post. Don’t read too much into it.

Then you don’t have the same problem as the rest of us. It doesn’t start no matter what i try.

All recommended specs being used but I can’t play still.

Very sad I can’t play with my group of friends who are all in nightmare already without me. Wtf blizzard

Hey Matt90977, I bet you didn’t expect it to take this long nor for your post to get so much action.

Did you have to change anything in the properties tab or you just double clicked and launched?

Looks like you have a graphics card driver issue. You could try to update, or remove and reinstall it to see if that fixes the issue.

If that doesn’t help it could be that the latest version is ‘t compatible with d2r and you could try to install an earlier version of the driver.

Just looking at Twitter, all the bliz devs are doing is showing off they’re game, they don’t care, even if you get a refund it makes no difference, why cause you will buy it later… But I can promise you as someone who has played blizzard games since warcraft, warcraft 2, this is the last one, and I will tell anyone who asks me that the software is not worth it, the quality of the company and it’s software has just gone down hill, it seems more important to push a broken product.

The soonest this will be fixed is Friday, but it will probably be next week after the server maintenance for the other games are taken care of.

So having been able to play this on my home PC and not my office PC, I am actually wanting a refund now more than ever.
And I guess it my fault for thinking “remastered” would include some code updates to like the AI and over all game play, but this was nothing more than just updating the graphics A LITTLE, NOTHING that would warrant the overall time it is taking to correct this BS AVX issue.
My 2 machines are very similar in specs with the main difference being the processor. one supports AVX and one does not…

If I was among those that took the day off for launch I would certainly ask for a refund, and some others may want to just cause, its not really that big of a improvement sadly. :frowning:

I actually went ahead and bought a new AMD Ryzen 5900x and a new motherboard (and a new tower). I guess thanks Blizz for dabbing on my CPU and convincing me to upgrade the thing I spend 6 hours per day using.
