AVX Issues / Game Launches, then Crashes on Older Processors (CPU)

This solves the black screen crash for some people, yes.

Unacceptable garbage. Fix your damn game.

The game will still not start. Play button goes to Now Playing then back to play. I prepaid for the right to play this game and I cannot. Please fix this issue now or provide information to get a refund.

Bummer… if they are “tackling new builds for testing” it could be awhile, hasn’t even made it to QA/testing.

Think about bro, if they have already issues with the servers and if they fix the AVX issue what’s gonna happen? or maybe is 100% intentionally from the just begining…

I’ve never seen a game just fail to launch when the computer does not meet requirements.

Usually loads, and lags like crazy. I was able to load Diablo 3 and play with like 2fps on an old desktop once.

There’s no way my 2020 laptop can’t load this remaster. I get the black screen after clicking play, then a crash and error report.

People are playing this game on tablets with much weaker integrated graphics than this laptops Intel UHD.

has anybody found a dyi solution to the “game not starting issue” i posted about four hours ago and trying to get some feedback

I am so frustrated now that I started to look for alternatives:

  • Refund? not yet, I am still too hot to play
  • Buy a new PC? Actually I just need a new CPU since the rest is quite up to date (24GB DDR3, RTX 2070, just CPU was never really necessary). However with a new CPU comes a new board, with a new board comes new RAM, most likely also a new case and power supply + a few days of delivery and work. Too slow… the fix might be faster
  • My wifes laptop could carry it, but playing on laptop sucks, so I am not yet frustrated enough
  • I own a switch, I could spend another 40 bucks and buy and play on Switch, wanted to do this any how since I am going on vacation soon. But actually want to play on PC… I’ll give it until tomorrow night I think

There are many theories that they did AVX on purpose to reduce the server overloads.But thats just opionions,which i share honestly.

If you’re having this issue it’s because your cpu doesn’t support AVX. This was an unintentional requirement by blizzard and they are working on a patch.

They just make me even more suspicious that they did this intentionally to keep us off the server load. This is by far the biggest thread and not even a mention of it in their forum post about bug fixes. Now it’s time for Bobby to give himself another $30 mil bonus for doing such a good job. lol

Same issue: CPU i7 930, GPU 1050ti, RAM DDR3 24Gb;
Loop “play–>launching->in game->play” buttons;
Hope patch can help us:-)

Worked fine in beta but now the button just turns play/playing

It would be nice to get a statement from the Community Manager, what the DEV Status on this Issue is and if there is a temporary fix for this, it seems that more than 23k Players (guess based on views of this thread) are affected by this issue. A quick Fix like a Server restart would be in order to give the Dev Team more time to deal with the underlying issue.
