My characters change secondary skills without my input. I am not swapping weapons when this happens, nor am I accidentally hitting some other button. The skill just changes, sometimes in the middle of combat. It is quite frustrating. I wonder if anyone else has had this or a similar problem.

No, I am not. Just the left and right buttons and one thumb button.
Your mouse wheel is busted then.
Happens to me as well. It sometimes randomly auto switches from teleport to telekinesis on my sorc.
