Auras on Equipment like Dream ain't working properly

Equipment pieces that give it’s wearer auras aren’t working properly.

e.g:

  • Dream(Runeword), Helmet, Shield, exactly 3 sockets: Io Jah Pul - Holy Shock Aura

Upon:

  • Using any potion in the belt
  • Moving an item in the inventory
  • Giving the merc any equipment
  • Opening the stash
  • Each X game ticks
  • Changing stats e.g: Using barbarian warcries - warcries wearing out

Equipment seems to get re-equipped by the backend engine thus resetting the auras. This causes Auras on Equipment to not work properly as auras also require X game ticks to change status from being active to inactive. Using multiple pieces of equipment seems to worsen the issue too.

edit: It’s noteworthy that this issue did not exist in Diablo II Classic LOD. So this has to do with something that’s been done by the current development stage.

edit: This affects all auras except for Beast and it’s fanaticism aura.

I am using a dream aura on my zon and this is defiantly an issue

Im actually going to stop playing because of this. I worked so hard to get my dream helm for it to annoy me with a sound every 5 seconds of my aura turning on and off and ruining my DPS… what a game lol

Looks to be a bug that affects almost all auras on equipment. Happens with my sorc wearing Insight, and just for a test my merc is using Edge which is working fine on her, when I equip it the aura constantly cycles every couple of seconds.

Can’t play the game this way, I would go back to classic but no shared stash on classic. and we get this huge patch update yesterday with literally one change. To the clowns at VV this is what happens when you don’t have a full beta test of your game.

I finally made a Dream shield and I have the same bug. The aura just cycles every few seconds on and off which for Holy Shock is an annoying sound effect every time it reactivates. A highly unpleasant surprise for all the work it took to make Dream.
Not to mention the damage of the aura is not always in effect.

I wonder if the devs ever planned to fix bugs. There are so many new bugs which didn’t exist in classic already it’s disappointing that no official takes any stance at all.

Yeah, noticed the same with harmony bow. I was confused when the aura would constantly restart while I was in town messing around in my stash/inventory.

I am replying to add another persons voice confirming that this is quite the game breaking glitch for me. Would like to see it fixed pronto… may have to switch games for awhile and see or ask for a refund.

Waited until I made my second Dream (Helm and Shield) to respec and equip them both. I noticed the same issue as well, very annoying noise of the aura being reapplied + below feet graphic. In terms of damage loss, it looks like the 1 or 2 second drop-outs are the only time the full damage is interrupted; i.e. a level 30 aura is still being used. Hopefully, (big hope), Blactivision look into fixing all the item equip aura bugs.

I can also confirm this bug. Happening with Hand of Justice and Dragon runewords. Auras are continuously dropping off and activating over and over. This is definitely a bug that is causing these builds to be very unenjoyable. FIX!!

Adding to the list of folks experiencing this bug. Insight on my Sorc, the aura constantly turns on and off. If it were merely a visual and audio glitch, it would be annoying but playable, but it does in fact affect gameplay, and is verifiable when you look at “Advanced Stats” and watch your Mana Regen constantly shift between the two values, with and without the aura.

Confirm on having Edge runeword equipped for cheaper gambling, you’ll hear the Thorns aura go off/on constantly. This will happen every time you buy something/pick something up in your inventory etc…

My barb that wears insight can sit in town after a fresh load with no warcries active and no inputs at all and watch the mana regen aura cycle on and off. Definitely a big problem.
