Attempting to run this game on win 11 laptop

I’m trying to run the game with windows 11 on my laptop. It is a Victus by HP laptop. It uses a GeForce 4060 RTX for performance and an intel one for power saving. It ‘works’ on power saving, so the intel graphics, but it is so laggy it is unplayable. I just want to use my GeForce graphics so I can play but it instantly crashes on bootup. Any help is welcome. Have already uninstalled and reinstalled D2R and also reinstalled Win 11.

Hi…
regarding your problem… how exactly did you tell windows to use your RTX card instead of the intel one?

i’m asking since simply setting this in certain setting in Nvidia driver app does not solve the problem… you need to set this in windows settings>system>display>graphics> and add D2R.exe and set it to “high efficiency mode on RTX4060”

besides that i’ve read that recent Nvidia drivers are just terrible for blizzard games in general…
566.03 is not the latest driver but i saw someone mentionig it for RTX 3060 and D2R this driver and all past it were problematic… that guy dug deep and found out 537.70 from January 24, 2024. was the last stable one… the bad news is that you won’t find this driver from Nvidia’s driver download page… they date back only to July 2024 and only if you select the game ready only
driver instead of everything…

the good news is there’s an app called NVcleaninstall from techpowerup.com’s download section… if you use that i bet you’ll be able to download the said driver…

Just be sure to give Nvidia Experience a goodbye kiss since You won’t be using this software as it will automatically download and install the most recent Nvidia drivers, which in turn seposedly cause all the fuss…

also You’ve mentioned You’ve reinstalled win11. Be also sure You’ve installed the techpowerup.com VC++ All in One package since You’ll be using “VC++ 2015-2017-2019-2022 x64” package since D2R is based on DirectX API and was aperantly compiled by Visual Studio 2019 ( first release) and Visual Studio 2022 ( later patches)… it is mandatory You have the corespondnding VC++ libraries installed in your system…
