There is no maximum attack speed cap. In LoD, animations couldn’t be faster than +75% over their base speed after all velocity modifiers (calculated from diminishing returns on IAS, directly added to slows and EIAS from skills like fanaticism).
There is no cap now. Werewolf and werebear druids are capable of doing 2 or 3 FPA attacks, as are werebear assassins. Its not a display glitch, they actually hit incredibly fast, far faster than they can in LoD. This is a full blown glitch
Also, WSG is missing. The whole way animations are handled appears to be different than LoD
This should stay in game. Those melee classes need any help they can get.

WSG is a glitch and was fixed finally.
WSG is not a glitch, its a misnomer. It was added to the game intentionally by the original LoD programmers as a way to allow players to switch weapons during animations even though different weapon classes had different animations and framecounts, and they intentionally locked weapon switching while in attack/cast animations to prevent it from being abusable.
No it was added by accident and is a glitch. They even fixed it but PVP newbs who couldn’t beat assassins cried until Blizzard added it back in. But definitely a glitch and always has been, Diablo has always had stun lock and it makes no sense to think they wanted you to be able to break stun lock by switching weapons. If anything WSG needs fixed to where you can’t switch weapons while stunned, stun doesn’t mean you get to keep doing whatever you want the whole time except for walking.
i know a druid with high fhr and max fcr dosnt need wsg.
i dont know about other classes
No, it was specifically added to the game in the original place, with purpose. “WSG” exists because the developers who made LoD developed it on top of the original D2 code, which never intended for weapon swapping. They were confronted with the problem of different weapons having different numbers of frames and action frame flags in their animations, so they couldn’t simply force the new animation to translate to the previous animation’s current frame. Making animations reset every time you swapped weapons was their solution. They also realized this could be exploited, letting you cancel animation backswings and start new animations for more rapid casting/attacking- so they made it so you couldn’t swap weapons midattack/midcast. That is how WSG came to exist.
D2r is currently glitched and does not have the same animation handling as LoD. The way some breakpoints are calculated is different. There is no maximum animation speed cap. You cannot switch weapons while in anything but an idle or run animation.
Not true at all. Weapon switch glitch was unintended and has been fixed, twice now. D2R is handling weapon switch correctly.
the two build types that are more or less complete trash once anything gets remotely dressed decent… let them have speed literally worst build types in the game are melee sins and bears… if they didnt buff any of the skills that is from lod…
