Attack sounds are missing

there are clearly some attack sounds missing. i can hear a tiny ‘bump’ when the hit lands, regardless of melee weapon used. weapon swing is entirely missing and weapon impact sounds like a placeholder. only elemental hits are audible. swords, axes, maces, staves, both one handed/two handed, all used to have distinct swing and hit sounds, as well as distinct sounds for hitting shields. only ranged weapons and daggers seem to sound normal, wands probably too or i would have remembered. in relation to attack swings missing, valkyrie attack grunts have also gone missing. i have all original audio files of the attacks on my pc but cant post links to show the stark difference

I have actually noticed this, when I watch people play LOD and they’re starting out in the blood moor hitting the zombies my reaction is “why does this sound so much better than resurrected?”

This wouldn explain it! Has anyone else noticed this?

yeah, its honestly a real nuisance. i found myself going back to original d2 again just because the combat sounds better. lacking those sounds makes it feel awful to play as a melee character, and its just embarassing in a group play to see the guy with the big weapon and forgetting he is there because all his swings are silent
